Reporting toour threeExecutive Directors of R&D, the Director of R&D, Global, leads one of three R&Dproductand technology branches of L-Acoustics:Loudspeaker Systems(other branches are ElectronicsandSoftware & Creative).Directly managing three Departments across Research, Technology & Platform and Product Development,they areresponsible for the overall success of the branch in achieving long-term research goals for L-Acoustics to remain at the forefront of technological innovation, ensuring technologies and platforms are aligned and enabling best-in-class Product Development cycles. Owning the short-, mid- and long-term vision for the branch,they playa pivotal role in aligning the company’s technological capabilities with its strategic goals.

In this capacity,theyworkclosely withtheirpeers spearheading the two other R&D branches to ensure cross-branch synergies and fostering a culture of collaboration across all three R&D branches. Furthermore,they area driving force inestablishingand maintaining cross-divisional collaboration,in particular withthe Product Management Division and the Product Management Director in charge ofLoudspeaker Systems from a Product Management side.

More precisely,theirkey responsibilitiesinclude :

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute the R&D strategy in alignment with the company’s businessobjectives, setting up the branch for success.

  • Develop/identifyand integrate emerging technologies tomaintaincompetitiveadvantage

  • Establish and communicatea clear visionfor R&D initiatives, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Drive the end-to-end strategy for the R&D branch from long-term research strategies to short-term product development lifecycles.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Liaise with key stakeholders, including Product Management Directors and executive leadership, to ensure alignment and transparency. Build andmaintainprivileged communication with the Product Management Director in charge of the same branch.

  • Communicate R&D plans, progress, and results to internal and external stakeholders. Act as an ambassador for the R&D branch.

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration to align R&D efforts with business goals.

Departmental Leadership:

  • Manage and provide strategic direction to Department leadership

  • Director of Research

  • Director of Technology

  • Director of Product Development.

  • Ensure each department aligns with the overall R&D strategy and companyobjectives

  • Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among the Research, Technology & Platforms, and Product Development teams all the while encouraging transverse collaboration with their peers in the other R&D branches.

Innovation and Technology Integration:

  • Drive the exploration and integration ofnew technologiesand methodologies.

  • Oversee the development of technology platforms that support product innovation.

  • Ensure the continuous improvement of R&D processes and methodologies.

Talent Development:

  • Attract, develop, and manage a diverse and inclusive team of R&D professionals.

  • Set clear, measurable goals and provide the necessary resources and training for team success.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the R&D team.

Performance Monitoring:

  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for R&D activities.

  • Regularly review and assess the performance of R&D projects and initiatives.

  • Implement corrective actions as needed to ensure the achievement of R&D goals.
