About the position:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our R&D team as the Director of SW/system Quality Assurance (Software/System). The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading and managing both manual and automated testing teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality software and hardware products.

What you’ll be doing

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead and manage a diverse team of QA engineers, fostering collaboration between hardware and software QA efforts.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development for team members.

Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement the overall QA strategy, considering the unique challenges of multidisciplinary products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and timelines across hardware and software domains.
  • Create and execute a comprehensive QA roadmap that integrates seamlessly with both hardware and software development processes.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices across hardware and software QA.
  • Streamline testing processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness in a multidisciplinary context.
  • Automation:
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of automated testing frameworks for both hardware and software.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate automated testing into the continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline for comprehensive product testing.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality software and hardware products by defining and enforcing quality standards.
  • Conduct thorough testing of software applications and hardware components, including functional, regression, performance, and security testing.
  • Build a practice and team for performance and scale testing, including building and maintaining complex environments.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and user stories across both hardware and software domains.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and ensure timely delivery of multidisciplinary projects.

Reporting and Metrics:

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for the QA team, providing regular reports on testing progress and results across hardware and software initiatives.
  • Implement metrics to measure the effectiveness of the QA process in a multidisciplinary environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in QA roles overall, including a minimum of 5 years in QA leadership positions, managing teams and managers.
  • At least 5 years of experience in multidisciplinary systems testing.
  • Deep understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience in the medical device industry is a strong advantage.
  • Proven experience as an automation developer engineer in Python, showcasing strong coding, design, and architectural skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Git Actions for seamless integration into the development pipeline.
  • Knowledge in ELK stack is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with the Linux environment.
  • Proficient in automation/QA infrastructure and tools such as Jira, Git, etc.
  • Fluency with the QA process, ensuring rigorous testing standards.
  • Familiarity with V&V process in context of medical regulation (IEC 62304, CFR 820/21)
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong attention to detail, contributing to effective collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
