- Lead the hotel’s purchasing function at the highest level, partnering with leaders across the organization to protect luxury standards, optimize resources, and drive exceptional business results.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead the hotel’s purchasing strategy and day-to-day procurement operations, ensuring the timely sourcing and delivery of products and services that meet The Peninsula’s exacting standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiating competitive pricing, favorable terms, quality standards, and service levels.
- Partner closely with Finance, Culinary, Rooms, Engineering, Spa, and other departments to understand business needs, anticipate requirements, and ensure purchasing decisions support operational excellence.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiencies, strengthen inventory management, and maximize value without compromising quality or the guest or employee experience.
- Establish and maintain purchasing policies, procedures, controls, and best practices that support compliance, financial accountability, sustainability, and responsible procurement.
General Requirements
- 7+ years of progressive purchasing or procurement experience, preferably within a luxury hotel or high-end hospitality environment, with demonstrated success managing complex purchasing operations.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to develop trusted partnerships with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong financial and business acumen, including experience with budgeting, cost analysis, inventory management, purchasing controls, and contract negotiations.
- Highly organized and analytical leader with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-touch luxury environment.
- Strategic and solutions-oriented decision-maker who can identify opportunities, challenge the status quo, and implement purchasing strategies that improve efficiency, quality, and business results.
