
Director of Property Claims Objective
To drive claims performance for the entire property team. To assure compliance and successfully balance adjusted loss expense, loss cost and customer satisfaction. Directly responsible to ensure the prompt, efficient and consistent handling, operation, control and disposition of all first and third party personal and commercial property claims. To plan, organize and direct the implementation and usage of tools and emerging technology needed through innovation and the simplification of business processes. To provide direction, leadership and technical services for property claims. Responsible for ensuring quality and customer service standards are achieved. Develop and be responsible for assigned division and corporate projects that contribute and support strategic goals.
Director of Property Claims Responsibilities
Promote and champion corporate/divisional objectives and philosophy through the communication of written guidelines to the Property Claim staff and management.
Maintain a high degree of comprehensive knowledge of all property and casualty contracts, their various endorsements, as well as a comprehensive knowledge of and procedures written by the companies, as well as accepted claim practices.
Responsible for the final determination and interpretation of policy coverages of property claim files to ensure the proper handling according to company policies and procedures. Train and assist others to read, comprehend, evaluate, adjust and supervise property claims for payment following the company procedures to include verification of policies and coverage, authorization of bills, estimates, depreciation and settlement of claims within approved limits.
Director of Property Claims Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree required with focus on insurance or business administration preferred, or equivalent experience may be considered.
Minimum 10 years of property claim experience required with at least two-three years field experience preferred.
Minimum five years of claim supervisory or claim management experience required.
Experience in large loss/complex claims and coverage analysis required.
Must possess a valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.
Designations in CPCU or similar professional insurance coursework required, or actively being pursued.
Proven knowledge of claims procedures, insurance policy coverages and legal defense required.
Must have access to high-speed Internet at home.
