Job Description

The Director of Research & Analytics leads and oversees all the analytics functions for the strategic planning for OCE Program Management and Strategy by conducting market research and collecting data on relevant and in-demand online programming for both credit and non-credit offerings across the LSU system. This position is responsible for providing data for all proposed online degree programs across the LSU system, A&M non-credit professional development programs, and for providing data on existing program health and viability. The position stays abreast of all higher trends and marketplace data in order to inform and advise executive leadership on strategic decision making for the strength of the LSU Online systemwide portfolio. The position also manages the OCE Lightcast account, provides training on data analytics, manages national survey submissions, and coordinates data requests related to all program development. In addition to reporting to the Director of Program Management & Strategy, there will be data management oversight from the Associate Director of Data & Enterprise Management for consistency throughout the division.

Job Responsibilities:

Conduct research on labor market to determine whether the OCE portfolio of offerings is responsive to industry needs, thus, preparing students for employment upon program completion. Prepare data for program viability analysis on proposed programs for all 6 campuses in the LSU system to help determine whether there is a need for the educational offering. Research trends in higher education to determine landscape of existing programs. Create informative and actionable reporting for executive leadership that highlights relevant business trends and opportunities for improvement. 40%

Inform and advise leadership on opportunities to create robust pathways for learners that are responsive to the changing needs of the labor market. This includes exploration in both credit and not-credit platforms and working in conjunction with the assistant director of learner career pathways to design multiple entry points for learners throughout the LSU system to fulfill educational needs to advance career outcomes. 15%

Manage OCE Lightcast account, taking full advantage of available data to guide leadership decisions. Train internal employees and LSU system staff and program directors in sourcing and analyzing data in preparation of Board of Regents' proposals and other federal negotiating rulemaking mandates. Work with web development to ensure Lightcast tools are available on program websites for students to be able to explore potential career outcomes associated with educational offerings. 15%

Manage the data collection and submission for national and regional surveys of online programs, including US News & World Reports, Peterson's, etc.; collaborate with campus, e.g., Data and Strategic Analytics, and OCE partners to ensure accuracy and consistency in data collection and submissions. 15%

Work jointly with leadership and other OCE units to provide needed data on labor market trends, higher education landscape and continuing education trends to administration and faculty across the 6 campuses in the LSU system; compile and evaluate, interpret, and explain what the data indicates; communicate findings in written, verbal, and/or visual presentations. 10%

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with 7 years of experience OR Master's degree with 5 years of experience

Specific Experience:

Demonstrates successful prior work experience in Online or Continuing Education and/or work in higher education that provided support to online programs.

Minimum Certification: Valid Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications:

Ph.D. with 7 years of experience

Additional Requirements:

Vehicle Operation - University employees whose principal responsibilities of employment include operating a vehicle, performing maintenance on a vehicle, or supervising any public employee who operates or maintains a vehicle and positions with an expectation to travel will require an MVR and are subject to drug screens per PM-33/PS-67/FASOP HR-04.

Operation Essential Personnel - This position may be asked to work during an official closure, but who is otherwise not required to report to the physical campus during a closure and whose absence does not present a risk to the safety, resources, and well-being of the campus per FASOP HR-01.
