The Role
We are hiring a Director of Product Marketing to lead our go-to-market strategy for Clinical Care, a highly strategic, high-growth product portfolio. This leader will head the commercialization, positioning, and adoption of SimplePractice's cutting-edge clinical tools, driven by generative AI solutions including our Note Taker and Care Aide products. This leader must be a master of PLG product marketing—owning free-trial funnels, conversion optimization, and continuous user adoption through lifecycle, in-product, paid, and community channels.
This role sits at the intersection of product, applied AI, marketing, finance, and clinical strategy. You will be responsible for defining how we package, price, launch, and drive retention for AI documentation and workflow features across both solo practitioners and multi-provider group practices. Above all, this role requires a deep customer-first mindset and an absolute obsession with the clinician, ensuring that aggressive business growth targets are achieved through an experience that genuinely respects, protects, and elevates the daily workflow of the healthcare providers we serve.
Responsibilities
Own the Clinical Care Go-To-Market Strategy
- Drive Portfolio Growth: Develop and execute a holistic, audience-centric commercial strategy for SimplePractice’s Clinical Care product portfolio, centering on generative AI innovations like Note Taker and the Care Aide add-on suite.
- Manage Multi-Cohort Funnels: Formulate nuanced lifecycle strategies that successfully navigate up-sell paths for existing product users alongside comprehensive acquisition frameworks for non-users.
- Bridge Commercial and Product Needs: Serve as a key internal advocate linking market execution with product development, translating quantitative and qualitative clinical insights into strategic adjustments to the roadmap and GTM approach.
Drive Product Launches & Commercialization
- Navigate Launch Lifecycles: Spearhead end-to-end commercialization paths for highly technical AI capabilities, steering features smoothly from early development through full market scale.
- Orchestrate Multi-Channel Campaigns: Coordinate high-impact launch motions across all primary growth channels, including in-product triggers, paid social, community, influencer networks, and partnerships.
- Demystify Advanced Tech: Distill complex AI concepts into clear, benefit-driven narratives.
Leverage PLG Channels to Maximize Adoption & Retention
- Optimize Funnel Conversions: Own clinical care funnel performance metrics, relentlessly driving top of funnel volume, maximizing conversion rates, and tracking cohorted retention.
- Architect Behavioral Triggers: Design and test targeted in-product lifecycle marketing campaigns to accelerate initial feature discovery and ensure trialists build regular usage habits.
- Deploy Retention Experiments: Collaborate with Growth Marketing to conceptualize and scale creative experimentation frameworks.
Lead Pricing & Packaging Strategy
- Own Monetization Strategy: Lead end-to-end pricing and packaging — including research, modeling, testing, and stakeholder alignment.
- Structure Differentiated Packaging: Oversee monetization strategy for advanced clinical features, continuously evaluating the value interplay between standalone tools and bundled products.
- Establish Pricing Framework: Balance acquisition, retention, and expansion considerations—ensuring pricing and packaging across our existing and new customer bases.
Cultivate a Customer-First Mindset & Clinician Obsession
- Look Beyond Raw Data: Look past quantitative metrics and usage dashboards to build a profound, empathetic understanding of provider workflows, pain points, and the unique realities of mental health practices.
- Mitigate User Friction: Act as a rigorous guardian of the end-to-end user experience, proactively monitoring and refining communication strategy
- Refine the Clinical Narrative: Collaborate with clinical experts to ensure marketing positioning accurately aligns with real-world product quality, compliance requirements, and strict professional standards.
Lead & Scale Product Marketing Capability
- Mentor Talent: Manage and mentor top product marketing talent as the function evolves.
- Codify Best Practices: Establish best practices and repeatable playbooks for portfolio-led growth and data-driven marketing inside an agile, product-lead health tech organization.
- Unify Cross-Functional Leaders: Navigate ambiguity and build deep operational alignment across Product, Finance, Sales, and Customer Success to deliver against ambitious annual business targets
Desired Skills and Experience
- 8+ years of experience in Product Marketing. Experience in mental healthcare or AI products is highly preferred but not required.
- Deep experience in SaaS, operating in a product-led growth environment, including launches, lifecycle-driven adoption, and self-serve GTM strategies.
- Demonstrated ownership of packaging and pricing strategy at the company or product level, ideally for differentiated customer segments.
- Customer-first mindset, demonstrating a passion for understanding user behaviors and market needs, ensuring all product marketing initiatives build long-term brand trust and delivering measurable value to the end consumer.
- Strong cross-functional collaborator with experience working closely with product, finance, marketing and customer success teams.
- Proven ability to lead compelling product launches and campaigns from insight to execution.
- Strategic thinker who is comfortable building new muscles and systems in a growing, PE-backed organization.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
