Global with responsibility for resources in Richmond, BC; Waterloo, ON; Montreal, QC, and Netherlands.

Position Summary

The Director of Product Management is responsible for the global strategy, roadmap, lifecycle management, and commercial success of Teledyne's 2D Camera and Frame Grabber portfolio across Richmond, Waterloo, Montreal, and future integration of Adimec.

This role will lead the transformation of Product Management into a market-led organization that is deeply connected to customers, aligned to MVC business strategy, and focused on delivering differentiated solutions. The Director will work closely with Engineering, Software, Product Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Teledyne e2v to create market-leading imaging platforms that extend beyond cameras into integrated solutions.

Partner with Teledyne e2v and other Teledyne technology organizations to build differentiated offerings from the sensor upward.

Partner with Product Marketing to shift messaging from features and specifications to customer outcomes, business value, and application benefits.

Strengthen Voice of Customer

Increase direct customer interactions across the PM organization and embed customer insight into roadmap, portfolio, and investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Product & Portfolio Leadership

Own the strategy, roadmap, profitability, and lifecycle management of the global 2D Camera and Frame Grabber portfolio.

Develop a unified portfolio strategy across Richmond, Waterloo, Montreal, and future Adimec product lines.

Drive investment decisions, portfolio prioritization, platform reuse, and lifecycle management.

Balance innovation, growth, profitability, and long-term platform leverage.

Market-Led Product Strategy

Ensure customer applications, workflows, and market opportunities drive product investment decisions.

Translate market insights into differentiated product and platform strategies.

Partner with Sales, Product Marketing, Applications Engineering, and key customers to identify growth opportunities and unmet needs.

Align product roadmaps with MVC strategic growth priorities across Semiconductor, Life Sciences, Industrial Automation, Space & Defense, Metrology, and emerging AI vision markets.

Solutions, Software & Ecosystem Leadership

Lead MVC evolution from a component supplier to a provider of integrated vision solutions.

Partner with the Software organization to create a unified software ecosystem, including common architectures, SDKs, APIs, and user experiences.

Drive platform thinking across hardware and software to improve reuse, simplify customer adoption, and accelerate innovation.

Develop solution strategies that combine cameras, frame grabbers, software, AI, and application expertise into compelling customer offerings.

Sensor-to-Solution Differentiation

Partner closely with Teledyne e2v to align product and sensor roadmaps.

Influence future sensor investments and identify opportunities to create differentiated customer value from the sensor upward.

Leverage Teledyne technology portfolio to deliver unique imaging solutions that competitors cannot easily replicate.

Promote a systems-level approach that integrates sensors, cameras, frame grabbers, software, and AI into cohesive customer solutions.

Product Marketing & Voice of Customer

Partner with Product Marketing to develop benefit-led positioning, messaging, and value propositions.

Ensure product managers can clearly articulate customer outcomes, business value, and competitive differentiation.

Increase direct customer engagement through regular customer visits, market reviews, industry participation, and strategic account interactions.

Embed Voice of Customer inputs into roadmap planning, portfolio management, and investment decisions.

Organizational Leadership

Build and lead a high-performing global Product Management organization.

Establish common processes, governance, and best practices across all sites.

Develop future product management leaders and strengthen commercial, market, and customer-facing capabilities.

Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, customer focus, and innovation.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Imaging Science, or related technical discipline.

MBA or equivalent business qualification preferred.

Experience

10 to 15+ years of progressive experience in Product Management, Product Marketing, Business Leadership, or Engineering leadership.

7 to 10+ years leading global product teams and complex technology portfolios.

Experience in Machine Vision, Industrial Imaging, Automation, Semiconductors, Photonics, Robotics, or related technology industries.

Proven success developing platform-based product strategies spanning hardware and software.

Track record commercializing technology products, platforms, and solutions.

Experience leading cross-functional teams in a global matrix organization.
