Job Description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of Product Engineering – Clinical Data Management / EDC based in India.

This leadership role sits at the intersection of product strategy, engineering, and clinical data innovation, driving the development of next-generation data management solutions for the life sciences industry. You will define and execute the product vision for EDC and clinical data platforms, ensuring they meet evolving global clinical trial requirements. The role requires close collaboration with engineering, operations, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate complex scientific and regulatory needs into scalable software solutions. You will oversee the full product lifecycle, from strategy and roadmap definition to delivery and performance optimization. With a strong focus on innovation, you will evaluate market trends, competitive landscapes, and build-vs-buy decisions to ensure optimal product direction. This is a high-impact role where your decisions directly shape product relevance, adoption, and global clinical research outcomes. The environment is fast-paced, highly regulated, and deeply collaborative across global teams.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle for clinical data management and EDC products, from ideation through launch and continuous improvement.
  • Define product vision, strategy, and roadmaps aligned with business objectives and evolving clinical research needs.
  • Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and vendor evaluations to inform build-versus-buy decisions.
  • Collaborate with engineering, data management, and cross-functional teams to define and prioritize product requirements.
  • Own product performance metrics, ensuring continuous optimization of usability, adoption, and business outcomes.
  • Manage product budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation to ensure efficient delivery and portfolio performance.
  • Engage with clients, industry experts, and stakeholders to gather insights for product enhancement and innovation.
  • Oversee compliance with regulatory frameworks including GxP, CSV, CDISC, and ICH standards.
  • Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Healthcare, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
    • 12+ years of experience in product management within life sciences, clinical data management, or EDC platforms.
    • Strong experience with systems such as Medidata, Veeva, CTMS, or similar clinical trial technologies.
    • Deep understanding of CDISC standards, ICH guidelines, and regulated clinical environments.
    • Proven track record of managing full product lifecycles in data management or biostatistics domains.
    • Strong knowledge of Agile (SAFe preferred), DevOps, and modern product development methodologies.
    • Experience leading globally distributed, cross-functional teams in matrixed organizations.
    • Strong analytical thinking, strategic decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with strong executive presence.
