Founded in 2008 in Lithuania, Vinted began as a way for friends to find new homes for clothes they no longer needed. In 2019, we became Lithuania's first unicorn! Today, our headquarters remain in Vilnius, and we've grown with offices across Europe, supported by a team of over 2,000 people.

Information about the position

At Vinted we are devoted to making second-hand the first choice worldwide. Vinted Pay is the regulated payments entity that makes it possible through enabling Vinted users to spend money, receive money, keep money and payout, while keeping them safe from financial crime.

We are establishing a new AML & Fraud Prevention product domain within Vinted Pay. As a regulated financial institution operating across Europe, our obligations grow as we grow: anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing controls, sanctions screening, KYC, transaction monitoring are protecting our members and our balance sheet from fraud and other illegal activities. Today these capabilities sit across several teams and tools. This domain will own them end to end, and turn financial crime prevention into a mature product: controls that satisfy regulators without adding friction for the honest majority.

This is a newly created domain. As its leader you will work with your functional peers (Engineering, Data, Design) to assess the status quo and construct the long-term vision. You will be responsible for setting domain goals, delivering on already identified opportunities, hiring, and executing the product vision.

You’ll report to the leader of Engineering/Product/Design/Analytics at Vinted Pay, and partner with Product Directors across Vinted Pay and the wider marketplace, as well as with our Compliance, Legal, Risk, Risk Operations, Engineering, Design and Analytics functions.

In this position, you’ll

• Drive and align the AML & Fraud Prevention domain on a single, unified vision, expressed through measurable objectives and key results
• Own the product roadmap across AML/CTF, sanctions and PEP screening, KYC, transaction monitoring and fraud prevention, build alignment across product teams, cross-functional partners and the leadership
• Partner with our MLRO, Compliance, Risk and Legal teams to translate regulatory obligations into product requirements and make the case for automated solutions where manual controls are in place
• Manage multiple competing objectives and provide clarity to the delivering organisation
• Use and analyse data to size risk, identify product opportunities, and build the right capabilities at the right time
• Own build-vs-buy decisions, then assess and collaborate with the vendors in building and maintaining AML/Fraud prevention solutions
• Get ahead of regulatory change: the EU AML package and AMLA, PSD3/PSR, evolving sanctions regimes, rather than reacting to it
• Build, mentor, lead and scale a team of Product Managers
• Implement best in class product development and managerial practices

About you

• 7+ years of experience in product management, with a substantial part of it in AML, financial crime, compliance, risk or fraud, ideally at a regulated financial institution, e-money institution, PSP, bank or fintech
• 4+ years of developing people and managing teams, including Product Managers
• Deep working knowledge of the AML domain: KYC and identity verification, customer risk scoring, sanctions and PEP screening, transaction monitoring and alert handling, SAR/STR reporting, and the regulatory frameworks behind them (EU AML directives and the AML package, national transpositions, FATF standards)
• Hands-on experience with fraud and scam prevention: detection models and rules engines, account takeover controls, chargebacks and disputes, and the trade-off between loss reduction and false positives
• A proven track record of successful product launches (at least two substantial projects with a 6–9 month minimum duration)
• Comfortable operating in a regulated environment: you have worked alongside compliance officers, internal and external auditors and supervisors, and you know how to move quickly without creating regulatory exposure
• Able to deliver from 0 to 1, and not afraid to build your own tools to achieve your goals
• Exceptional leadership skills and substantial experience building high-performing teams of 10+, ideally not only in product (and we’d expect your former teams to still be singing your praises!)
• Significantly above-average business acumen, analytical skills and long-term planning skills
• Both quantitative and qualitative: able to assess and understand complex systems quickly, to integrate usability studies, research and market analysis into product requirements, and to be a product ambassador to the rest of the organisation
• Well organised, with a collaborative attitude and a strong sense of ownership
• An excellent communicator, including in written and spoken English

Working at Vinted

Workation policy

Better balance holidays with workdays by working remotely! Up to 90 days per year in the EU, of these, 21 days can be spent globally. For non-EU citizens, it's 21 days worldwide. This can be combined with time off for vacation or personal time.

Individual learning budget

Each year, you’ll be given a learning budget (starting at €3,000), and a total of up to 10 working days over a 2-year period to support your personal and professional development.

Our hybrid model, with 2 recommended office days a week, gives you and your team the flexibility to decide if and when you want to work from home, and when to catch up in person.
