Job Description

About the Opportunity

Founded in 1898, Northeastern is a global research university and a world leader in experiential

learning. The same commitment to connecting with the world drives our use-inspired research

enterprise. The university offers a comprehensive range of undergraduate and graduate

programs leading to degrees through nine colleges and schools, up to the doctorate. Our

campuses in Arlington, VA, Charlotte, N.C., San Francisco, Seattle, London, Toronto, and

Vancouver are platforms for undergraduate and graduate learning and collaborative research.

Reporting to the Managing Director of the Southeast Network Corridor, the Director of

Partnerships and Strategic Growth will serve as a senior member of the Northeastern Miami

Campus team responsible for the strategy and implementation of innovative initiatives and

Corridor. This role carries an initial emphasis on health and the healthcare sector, reflecting

Miami’s position as a dynamic hub for health innovation, life sciences, and a robust bilingual,

internationally connected healthcare workforce. As the campus’s program portfolio diversifies,

this role will expand to cultivate partnerships in other sectors aligned with institutional priorities,

including entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystems.

The Director of Partnerships and Strategic Growth plays a lead role in driving Southeast

Corridor activities and programs in alignment with both regional market needs and

Northeastern’s strategic goals. This position works closely with Miami Campus leadership, the

Bouvé College of Health Sciences (including the Assistant Dean for Clinical Affairs and

Partnerships), and other colleges and university stakeholders as needed. The Director

leverages institutional expertise to build, expand, and nurture strategic partnerships with

industry, philanthropic, governmental, and community stakeholders, while also contributing to

enrollment pipeline development and thought leadership that elevates the Miami Campus’s

regional profile.

Qualifications

Administration, or a relevant field required; advanced degree strongly preferred.

• Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience in business development, partnership

management, or healthcare administration.

• Direct healthcare or health sciences experience preferred; familiarity with the South

Florida healthcare landscape is a significant asset.

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred, reflecting Miami’s market and

community demographics.

• Superior skills in corporate outreach, business development, and relationship

management, with a demonstrated track record of converting prospects into active,

sustained partnerships.

• Mission-driven, with a passion for broadening participation in health sciences, workforce

pipelines, and healthcare innovation.

• Ability to develop and lead strategic initiatives from concept through completion;

excellent management, organizational, and communication skills.

• High degree of self-motivation and self-direction, with a proven track record of

collaborative success in matrixed environments.

• Organizational tact and diplomacy; ability to build trusted relationships with external

partners, health system leaders, community stakeholders, and internal academic

administrators including Deans, Associate Deans, and Program Directors.

• Experience tracking partnership activity and reporting outcomes against defined goals

and metrics.

• Demonstrated ability to serve as an organizational ambassador, representing campus

and Corridor strategic interests with credibility and professionalism.

• Commitment to belonging, equity, and broadening access to health sciences education.

• Flexibility for regional travel and availability for occasional extended-hour events
