Job Description

  Under the direction of the Vice President of Operations, the Director of Operations is responsible for the operational oversight of Palomar Health Medical Group, including but not limited to Primary Care, Specialty Care, Radiology and partnering with Palomar Health Integrated Delivery System (IDS) for operations that cross to the hospital system.   Directs outpatient operations and overall clinical care to ensure provision of high quality, cost-effective medical services. In collaboration with the Vice President of Operations, the Director of Operations will support to achieve high quality patient care, a strong focus on patient experience and improvement efforts, administrative and fiscal aspects of the organization. Provides leadership and oversight of the performance of Sr. Managers, Practice Managers and Clinical Practice Managers. Responsible for leading the operations team related to initiatives of the medical group and health system. Provides oversight to ensure efficient and effective use of resources with data driven results. Develops and mentors a high performing team for all areas of responsibility.   Ensures financial viability by managing both applicable revenue and expenses with attention to supply cost utilization and a high level of productivity in cost centers under direct control.    Ability to speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position.   Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, internet, e-mail).   Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop-down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job.   Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health Medical Group rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws, and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health Medical Group.  Job Requirements Minimum Education: Registered Nurse with BSN  Preferred Education: Master’s degree in Healthcare related field.
