About the Role
18Forty is seeking a Director of Operations to run the organization’s day-to-day operations and help scale its next stage of growth. This role sits at the center of the organization, coordinating the small team of freelancers, managing projects, and ensuring that ideas become reality. The Director of Operations works closely with the Founder, Rabbi Dovid Bashevkin, helping translate strategic vision into concrete initiatives across media, programming, and partnerships.
The ideal candidate is extremely organized, fast-moving, and comfortable leading in a small, start-up environment. They should be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, coordinate staff and contractors, and help guide the operational growth of a mission-driven media organization. This role combines operations leadership, project management, and fundraising support in a fast-moving organization where initiative, ownership, and creativity are essential.
Strategic Priorities
Primary Focus (60–70% of role)
Organizational Operations: Run the day-to-day functioning of 18Forty, coordinating staff, contractors, and production workflows across podcasts, essays, newsletters, and digital platforms.
Project Execution: Ensure that major initiatives—including new programming, events, and partnerships—move from concept to execution efficiently.
Team Coordination: Serve as the central operational hub for the organization, maintaining communication, accountability, and alignment across the team.
Secondary Focus (30–40% of role)
Fundraising & Partnerships: Support the organization’s fundraising efforts through grant applications, donor materials, and partnership development.
Strategic Implementation: Work closely with the Founder to implement organizational strategy and guide new initiatives from idea to launch.

Salary &Benefits:
The salary range for this positionis$70,000 - $90,000, commensurate with experience.
