The Director of Operations provides executive leadership for all factory and plant activities, ensuring that Matna’s production systems operate with the highest levels of efficiency, quality compliance, safety discipline, and cost control.

We are seeking talented professionals who are passionate about socio-economic development through agricultural and Agro-allied investments.

  • Lead and oversee all plant operations to ensure efficient, safe, and consistent production of high-grade cassava starch
  • Drive operational discipline across Production, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Engineering and Supply Chain
  • Ensure optimal plant capacity utilization through structured production planning and process control
  • Strengthen yield performance, reduce waste, and eliminate rework through continuous process improvement
  • Ensure strict adherence to quality standards, safety practices, and regulatory requirements across the factory
  • Oversee maintenance planning and equipment reliability to minimize downtime and operational disruptions
  • Align raw material intake, processing flow, and finished goods management with production efficiency
  • Establish structured operational reporting for performance visibility and informed decision-making
  • Collaborate with Commercial and Finance teams to align production output with demand forecasts and cost realities
  • Build a culture of accountability, supervision, and process discipline among plant leadership and supervisors
  • Guide capital planning, equipment upgrades, and operational improvements that enhance efficiency and capacity
  • Provide operational insights and recommendations to the MD/CEO for strategic planning and resource optimization

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, Food Science, or related field; postgraduate qualification is an advantage
  • Minimum of 15 years’ progressive experience in Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), food processing, agro-processing, or industrial manufacturing
  • At least 7–10 years in senior operations leadership within a commodity food product processing plant
  • Strong experience managing production, maintenance, quality, and supply chain functions in an integrated manner
  • Proven track record of improving plant efficiency, yield performance, and operational reliability
  • Deep understanding of quality standards, safety compliance, and process control in food or industrial production
  • Experience working closely with commercial and finance teams to align operations with business objectives
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making capability in highperformance environments
  • Ability to build disciplined teams and drive operational accountability across multiple functions
