Southern Healthcare Management (SHCM) is seeking an experienced Director of Nutritional Services to join our regional support team. This position works closely with Vice Presidents of Operations, Regional Clinical Directors, Administrators, Dietary Managers, Consulting Dietitians, and other clinical leaders to promote high-quality food service and nutritional care across our skilled nursing centers.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Food Service Professional who has SKILLED NURSING FACILITY multi-facility experience. All facets of Culinary Leadership and knowledge are required.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Provide leadership and expertise related to nutrition care and food service across assigned facilities in Florida, North Carolina, and Georgia.
  • Conduct routine nutrition and food service reviews and audits throughout the company.
  • Evaluate clinical practices for compliance with professional, regulatory, AHCA and company standards.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor clinical programs, protocols, policies, procedures, goals and objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and develop intervention strategies focused on optimal resident outcomes.
  • Develop in-service education, training materials and programs for facility staff.
  • Train and support Dietary Managers regarding clinical nutrition care of residents.
  • Assist with the orientation of new Dietary Managers and Registered Dietitians.
  • Serve as a resource to facilities through consultation, education, and ongoing support.
  • Promote the use of standardized systems, guidelines, products, equipment, and forms.
  • Monitor the quality of Food and Nutrition Services programs and assist clinical services with goal development.
  • Manage and provide direction to consultant Registered Dietitians to promote consistency, accountability, and performance.
  • Develop mechanisms to ensure safe and secure handling of food and related products.
  • Participate in cost analysis during the Request for Proposal (RFP) process for assigned product areas.
  • Respond to emergent situations as needed.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and collaborate with regional and facility leadership.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Multi-facility experience in SKILLED NURSING FACILITIES. This is non-negotiable. Minimum of 4 years’ experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of nutrition care systems, food service operations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to interpret and monitor applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a regional team.
  • Must meet all applicable state-specific requirements.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 60%, including overnight and out-of-state travel.
  • Must live within commuting distance of our Casselberry, FL office.
