The Director, Nursing Regulatory Operations serves as the organization’s nursing and regulatory subject matter expert and provides leadership for nursing licensure, regulatory compliance, accreditation readiness, and regulatory project management across all Amerita nursing operations. This position supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of nursing regulatory programs to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, accrediting body, and payer requirements.

The Director partners closely with Nursing Operations, Clinical Services, Quality & Accreditation, Pharmacy Operations, Compliance, Legal, and branch leadership to support licensure activities, regulatory readiness, survey preparedness, policy development, and strategic growth initiatives. This role serves as a key resource for interpretation of nursing regulations, home health requirements, alternate site infusion regulations, and state specific operational requirements.

The Director functions as a trusted advisor to operational leaders and provides consultation regarding regulatory risk mitigation, corrective action planning, accreditation readiness, and nursing regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

Licensure & Regulatory Operations

· Lead nursing-related licensure activities including home health agency, alternate site infusion, and other state specific regulatory applications, renewals, modifications and filings.

· Coordinate regulatory submissions and maintain documentation required by state licensing agencies.

· Monitor license renewal requirements and regulatory deadlines.

· Maintain centralized oversight of nursing-related licenses, permits, registrations, and regulatory approvals.

· Support branch openings, relocations, service expansions, acquisitions, and other regulatory projects.

· Serve as a liaison between Amerita operation and state regulatory agencies.

Regulatory Interpretation & Nursing Resource Support

· Monitor and interpret federal, state, and accreditation requirements impacting nursing operations.

· Provide regulatory guidance and support to branch leadership, nursing managers, and corporate departments.

· Serve as the primary Nursing Resource Line for regulatory and licensure-related questions.

· Research regulatory requirements and develop operational guidance to support compliant practice.

· Partner with Compliance and Legal departments to evaluate regulatory requirements and operational impacts.

Accreditation & Survey Readiness

· Support organizational readiness for Joint Commission, ACHC, CHAP, state surveys, and other regulatory inspections.

· Conduct survey preparedness assessments and mock survey activities.

· Assist branch leadership with survey responses, corrective action plans, and regulatory follow-up activities.

· Participate in accreditation preparation activities and provide regulatory expertise related to nursing standards.

Quality & Patient Safety Collaboration

· Participate in Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities as a nursing regulatory advisor.

· Collaborate with Quality & Accreditation leadership regarding quality initiatives, patient safety programs, and performance improvement projects.

· Provide regulatory interpretation and guidance related to quality events, investigations, and corrective action plan.

· Participate in governing body, quality committee, and patient safety committee activities as assigned.

Policy & Procedure Management

· Collaborate with Clinical Services, Quality, Compliance, and Operations leadership in the development, review, and revision of policies and procedures.

· Ensure nursing policies and operational practices align with applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements.

· Assist with the implementation of regulatory changes impacting nursing operations.

Strategic Growth & Organizational Support

· Support organizational growth initiatives through regulatory due diligence and licensure planning.

· Participate in evaluation of new services, markets, and operational opportunities.

· Assist leadership in identifying regulatory risks and developing compliant operational solutions.

· Provide education and training related to nursing regulatory requirements and compliance expectations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in home infusion, home health, specialty pharmacy, healthcare operations, regulatory affairs, accreditation, or compliance.
  • Experience with state licensure activities, regulatory surveys, accreditation programs, or healthcare regulatory compliance required.
  • Experience with home health, infusion therapy, alternate site infusion, or multi-state healthcare operations preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting healthcare regulations and supporting operational implementation.
  • Active RN license in state of practice required
  • Must meet company driving standards
  • Current CPR certification required
  • Extensive knowledge of nursing regulations, accreditation standards, and healthcare compliance requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Joint Commission, ACHC, CHAP, CMS, state health department, and nursing board requirements.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to independently research and interpret regulatory requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive organizational compliance initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance regulatory requirements with operational needs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Occasional trave required to support surveys, licensure activities, branch openings, regulatory meetings, and operational initiatives.
