About the Role

As the Director of Nursing for Long-Term Care, you will help oversee and support the daily clinical operations of the nursing home while leading, mentoring, and supporting nursing staff.

This role plays a vital part in helping ensure residents receive compassionate, high-quality care in a safe, supportive, and respectful environment.

You will work closely with leadership, providers, staff, residents, and families to help strengthen care delivery, teamwork, communication, and long-term stability within the organization.

Responsibilities include:

Planning and organizing nursing home operations to ensure quality patient care

Supervising, mentoring, and supporting nursing staff

Maintaining communication between healthcare teams

Ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and nursing standards

Recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating staff

Supporting budgeting and operational oversight

Implementing quality improvement initiatives

Addressing resident, family, or patient care concerns

Helping maintain a safe and healthy environment for residents and employees

Staying current with healthcare trends, nursing practices, and regulatory updates

Collaborating with providers, residents, and families regarding individualized care plans

We are looking for someone who:

genuinely enjoys people

understands both the challenges and rewards of rural healthcare

can balance operational leadership with compassion

believes long-term care deserves dignity and heart

Experience within long-term care, rural healthcare, Critical Access Hospitals, nursing leadership, or smaller healthcare environments is highly valued.

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing required
  • Active RN License required

  • Long-Term Care nursing experience required

At least:


  • 5 years of nursing management experience
  • OR 7 years of nursing experience

  • OR a combination of management and nursing experience

Bonus points if you:

  • own at least one flannel
  • understand the importance of a good potluck
  • appreciate slower mornings and quieter nights
  • think relationships matter more than corporate buzzwords
  • know rural healthcare teams are built differently in the best possible way
