Summary of Position:

The Director of Network Engagement supports Child Care Aware of America’s Network Impact Team by strengthening systems and scaling solutions that help CCR&Rs, child care providers, and families access the information and resources they need. This role leads high-level project management efforts, builds strategic partnerships, and collaborates with internal and external experts to create impactful opportunities across the early care and education field. Serving as a subject matter expert, the Director provides exceptional technical assistance and support to CCR&Rs and other child care leaders.


The Director leads CCAoA’s Early Childhood Workforce Specialist and in developing training and technical assistance resources that help network organizations identify, implement, and engage with solutions aligned to their goals and needs.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Lead and manage complex, cross-functional projects from planning through implementation, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, timelines, deliverables, and the expectations of interested parties.

  • Drive strategies that strengthen and engage CCAoA’s national network through scalable solutions that support CCR&Rs, state systems, and community-based organizations.

  • Lead initiatives related to the Child Development Associate (CDA) and other workforce development efforts that expand access, strengthen professional pathways, and support early care and education providers.

  • Identify and cultivate collaborative partnerships with state agencies, national organizations, and community partners to advance the early care and education field and support sustainable systems-building efforts.

  • Support state agencies and network partners in strengthening child care systems through technical assistance, capacity-building, and infrastructure development strategies.

  • Oversee project budgets by monitoring expenditures, tracking funding allocations, and ensuring resources are managed effectively to achieve project objectives and organizational priorities.

  • Lead the development of training and technical assistance resources that promote scalable, sustainable solutions for CCR&Rs and organizations supporting state child care systems.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to design and deliver training, technical assistance, convenings, and other engagement opportunities that support network impact and shared learning.

  • Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with CCR&R organizations and other key stakeholders to support collaboration, responsiveness, and continuous engagement.

  • Ensure programs, resources, and service delivery strategies align with current best practices, adult learning principles, and CCAoA’s strategic vision and priorities.

  • Partner with the Senior Vice President, Network Impact to implement workplans, scopes of work, and strategic initiatives effectively and efficiently.

  • Maintain high ethical standards, including safeguarding confidential and sensitive information.

  • Support special projects and organizational initiatives that advance Child Care Aware® of America’s mission and objectives.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the effective operation of the organization.


Qualifications:


  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to maintain current knowledge of child care practices, including alignment with Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) requirements and emerging recommendations from leaders and experts in the field.

  • Ability to document technical assistance activities through clear narrative summaries and technical reports.

  • Experience with virtual learning and meeting platforms, including webinar facilitation and online engagement tools.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to effectively engage clients, members, partners, vendors, and internal teams.

  • Strong organizational, time management, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective facilitation, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to navigate and reconcile diverse perspectives.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams while engaging individuals with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and skill levels to achieve program goals.

  • Proven ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with staff, leadership, partners, and stakeholders at all organizational levels.

  • Minimum of five years of experience providing training and technical assistance to systems-level professionals at the local, state, or national level preferred.

  • Ability to support colleagues collaboratively and creatively at all levels and in all areas of the organization. Capable of learning and communicating complex and technical topics.


Salary Information:


The salary range reflected in this job posting is the hiring range for this position within the Washington DC Metropolitan area. Please note that a geographic differential will be applied to the salary for candidates hired from regions with a lower cost of living. This adjustment ensures competitive and equitable compensation based on location.
