Level: 4 Year Degree
Oversees medical services and provides advanced medical care and direction within the Nurse Practitioner (“NP”) scope of practice at all Prestonwood Pregnancy Center (“PPC”) locations.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with staff and volunteers to deliver safe, compassionate, client-centered care in alignment with PPC’s mission
- Perform pregnancy tests, and limited medical screenings and obstetrical ultrasounds according to standing delegation orders
- Maintain accurate client documentation according to PPC protocol and legal standards
- Provide client and family education and counseling
- Order, interpret, and follow up on laboratory and diagnostic tests as permitted by state regulations and PPC policy
- Incorporate principles of safety in all clinical operations by:
- - Demonstrating safe use of medical equipment; and
- - Maintaining infection-control measures with all client contact
- Conduct client assessments to determine differential diagnoses related to pregnancy, reproductive health, and common women’s health concerns
- Provide limited prenatal counseling and management of normal pregnancy findings
- Formulate and initiate appropriate evidence-based care plans
- Provide medical consultations for complex client situations and guide nursing staff regarding client care questions
- Identify high risk pregnancy conditions and coordinate with physicians to provide medical oversight when necessary
- Prescribe medications as appropriate under Texas state law and PPC protocols
- Participate in development, revision, and implementation of clinical policies, protocols, and standing delegation orders
- Collaborate with PPC leadership to develop and implement improvements to existing PPC protocols, including new service lines
- Oversee staff RNs, Sonographers and Clinic Managers
- Provide clinical leadership, mentorship, and training for RNs, sonographers, volunteers, and medical assistants
- Participate in quality assurance, chart audits, and performance improvement initiatives
- Ensure HIPAA compliance for PPC
- Assist with the creation and full implementation of PPC’s annual strategic plan as it relates to medical services
- Other duties as assigned
QualificationsRequirements:
- Growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as an active member of a Bible believing and preaching ministry
- Pro-life in word and pro-love in action
- Possess and maintain current APRN license and sonography training
- Compliance with state and professional licensing and continuing education requirements
- Excellent communication skills, bilingual in English and Spanish a plus
- Ability to work with the highest level of confidentiality
- Continued professional development especially in the areas of obstetrics, gynecology and women’s health issues
- Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office products
- Possess current driver license, personal vehicle insurance and a clear driving record to drive the mobile sonogram unit
- Availability to work at any PPC location, including at minimum of two evenings per week and every other Saturday
- Able to perform physical activities requiring moving one’s whole body, such as walking, stooping, pushing/pulling a cart, and use of stairs, and ability to lifting up to 30 lbs. without assistance
