Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, or "CRMC", is a 25-bed, non-profit, critical access hospital serving Southeast Kansas and Northeast Oklahoma since 1949. As a rural hospital, CRMC is surprising because of its large size and wide variety of services. Although we can provide many of the same services you will find in a big city, we take great pride in our friendly and caring staff.
The Director of Medical Imaging is responsible for the development and growth of all aspects of medical imaging services at CRMC. The Director provides leadership to the departments’ clinical team and assists with core business operations and team growth and development. The Director develops strategic marketing and growth initiatives for the department and works in conjunction with the clinical team to achieve goals.
JOB DUTIES:
- Responsible to the COO for leading the Medical Imaging Department
- Works collaboratively with the Chief Clinical Officer and clinicians in the department to plan and implement strategies to achieve excellence in care and patient safety.
- Enhance the quality, access, safety, and efficiency of patient services and increase patient satisfaction with a focus on performance excellence and high reliability. Working toward a goal of hardwiring best practices and for measured results and improvements.
- Working collaboratively with the COO, CCO, and medical leadership of CRMC, as a resource to help reduce costs, enhance revenues, achieve effective utilization and quality goals and objectives.
- Analyze and utilize information to develop and support management decisions.
- Available daily for consultation with clinical team members to problem-solve and troubleshoot department challenges.
- Conducts an ongoing financial assessment of the services provided by the departments
- Assesses the market and works with others to design marketing strategies to engage potential customers to our hospital. Support ease of use for patients and make decisions that allow the department to adjust for best patient access.
- Facilitates development of key clinical performance indicators for each department and monitors outcomes. Implements changes based on quality measures, data, risk assessment, and feedback.
- Develops and maintains strategies for recruitment and retention of staff and supports staff in achievement of ongoing professional career goals.
- Applies critical and systems thinking, role-modeling, and mentoring skills to create a culture of appreciative inquiry, readiness to learn, and active participation in evidence-based practice activities.
The Director of Medical Imaging assumes other responsibilities as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated leadership and complex organization management skills.
- An understanding of how to achieve results in a healthcare environment.
- Well-developed planning, marketing, organizational development, and business skills.
- The ability to work with physicians, staff and professionals in multiple settings and locations and able to promote diversity in the workplace.
- Information systems capabilities and an appreciation for the data which will be required to make meaningful management decisions.
- Negotiation and financial analysis skills.
- Ability to move, position self, consistently operate various types of equipment, able to detect/observe/identify details at close or distant range with or without accommodations as well as exerting 20 to 50 pounds occasionally, or 10 to 25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Master’s degree MBA or MHA, preferred
- 2 years progressive experience in hospital operations/outpatient environment or equivalent, preferred
