About Homeboy Industries
Homeboy Industries is the largest and most successful gang-intervention, reentry, and rehabilitation organization in the world. For more than three decades, Homeboy has worked to transform lives by providing formerly incarcerated and gang-involved individuals with comprehensive support—including employment, education, housing, healing services, and a community of kinship—so they can build a future grounded in dignity, purpose, and belonging.

Homeboy Industries is seeking a Director of Marketing & Brand Strategy to serve as the organization’s senior leader for brand, marketing, and growth. This is a high-impact, highly visible role responsible for translating Homeboy’s mission, values, and lived experience into a cohesive, data-informed brand and marketing strategy that drives earned revenue, philanthropic growth, and long-term organizational sustainability.
Reporting to the co-CEOs and working closely with the Founder and Executive Team, the Director will act as a strategic thought partner, ensuring that marketing is fully integrated into Homeboy’s social enterprise strategy, fundraising efforts, capital campaigns, and public presence.
This role goes beyond storytelling and execution. The Director of Marketing & Brand Strategy is accountable for building systems, setting priorities, and aligning teams so that brand strategy directly advances mission impact and financial performance.Key Responsibilities

About Homeboy Industries

Homeboy Industries mission is to hope, training, and support to formerly gang-involved and previously incarcerated adults and youth, allowing them to redirect their lives and become contributing members of our community.

For 30 years, Homeboy Industries has created a therapeutic community that provides the critical support needed for gang members and previously incarcerated individuals to change their lives. This non profit organization has made a singular impact on the Los Angeles community, not only by providing a means for thousands of individuals to support their families, but also by cultivating healing that helps ensure the cycle of violence is broken.

More than 300 people each year are employed through job training positions in our downtown Los Angeles headquarters. They learn on-the-job skills in what is often their first “real” job. They are encouraged to use their workday to work on themselves through a variety of free programs and services like mental health therapy, tattoo removal, substance abuse counseling, parenting and financial literacy classes, GED tutoring, solar panel installation training, case management and legal services. Additionally, thousands of L.A. community clients, have access to a segment of our services including employment counseling and tattoo removal. These are all offered free of charge thanks, in large part, to the donations we receive.

In addition to being a 501(c)3 not-for-profit, Homeboy Industries operates nearly a dozen social enterprises including:

Homegirl Café, Homeboy Bakery, HomeboyFoods.com, Homeboy Diner at L.A. City Hall, Homeboy Gluten-Free Bakery, Homegirl Catering, Homeboy Silkscreen and Embroidery, Homeboy Merchandise and Homeboy Electronics Recycling.
