Director of Marketing

Lakewood, NJ | Full-Time

Overview

A growing nonprofit organization is seeking a highly driven and assertive Director of Marketing to lead its overall marketing strategy, brand presence, and community outreach.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows how to take ownership, drive initiatives forward, and build strong community visibility and relationships. The ideal candidate combines strong marketing instincts with excellent people skills and the ability to lead multiple creative and community-focused initiatives simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the organization’s overall marketing and community engagement strategy
  • Drive community-based marketing, building relationships with local institutions, organizations, schools, community leaders, and other key partners
  • Plan and execute community events, parlor meetings, partnerships, and outreach initiatives
  • Oversee and direct photography, videography, social media, and creative content
  • Lead digital marketing initiatives, including digital advertising and online campaigns
  • Manage marketing projects from concept through execution, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met
  • Provide clear direction to internal team members, creatives, vendors, and outside partners
  • Ensure consistent messaging, branding, and positioning across all marketing channels
  • Identify new opportunities to increase awareness, engagement, and community presence
  • Track marketing performance and continuously improve strategy based on results

Qualifications

  • Strong marketing leadership experience with the ability to take charge and move projects forward
  • Assertive, confident personality with excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience with community outreach, events, partnerships, or grassroots/community-based marketing
  • Strong understanding of social media, digital advertising, photography, videography, and creative content
  • Comfortable overseeing multiple people, vendors, projects, and deadlines
  • General familiarity with task/project management platforms
  • Working knowledge of Canva and AI tools for marketing and content creation
  • Highly organized, proactive, creative, and results-driven
