We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Director of Marketing to lead our marketing function in Tokyo, Japan. In this strategic leadership role, you will drive the development and execution of comprehensive marketing strategies that align with our organizational goals and propel brand growth in the dynamic Asian market. You will lead a talented marketing team, foster innovation, and ensure that all marketing initiatives deliver measurable results while maintaining our brand's integrity and market position.

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with organizational business objectives, ensuring effective implementation across digital, traditional, and experiential channels in the Tokyo market and beyond
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing marketing team, promoting a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement while providing professional development opportunities and constructive performance feedback
  • Oversee brand positioning and consistency across all platforms and touchpoints, ensuring the brand vision resonates with target audiences and maintains alignment with company values and mission
  • Design and implement integrated marketing campaigns that drive customer acquisition, engagement, and retention, with a focus on measurable outcomes and ROI optimization
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives, managing SEO, SEM, social media marketing, content marketing, email campaigns, and paid media strategies to establish a robust online presence
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify industry trends, understand customer needs, and uncover growth opportunities specific to the Tokyo and broader Asian markets
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with senior leadership, sales, and revenue management teams to align marketing efforts with business objectives and ensure seamless communication across departments
  • Develop, manage, and optimize the marketing budget, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation and maximum return on investment across all marketing initiatives
  • Track, analyze, and report on marketing campaign performance, providing actionable insights and recommendations to continuously improve marketing effectiveness and strategy
  • Manage public relations strategies, cultivate relationships with key partners, influencers, and media outlets, and maintain a positive brand reputation in the marketplace
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for marketing matters, presenting strategies, updates, and results to senior executives and external stakeholders with clarity and transparency
  • Ensure all marketing initiatives align with organizational sustainability goals and corporate social responsibility objectives, promoting ethical and eco-friendly practices

Qualifications

**Education:**

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree is highly preferred

**Experience:**

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive marketing experience in corporate environments
  • At least 5 years in a director-level or senior marketing leadership role
  • Proven experience managing and developing large marketing teams
  • Demonstrated track record of driving organizational change and implementing successful marketing transformations
  • Experience developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels
  • Strong background in managing substantial marketing budgets and optimizing resource allocation

  • Strategic thinking and the ability to translate business goals into effective marketing initiatives
  • Advanced proficiency in digital marketing strategies, including SEO, SEM, social media marketing, content marketing, and email marketing
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making capabilities with expertise in performance measurement and ROI analysis
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive collaborative outcomes
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Japanese is a plus
  • Creative and innovative mindset with the ability to develop forward-thinking marketing solutions
  • Project management and vendor/agency management expertise
  • Budget management and financial acumen
  • Crisis management and reputation management capabilities

**Domain Expertise & Additional Qualifications:**

  • Experience in international or cross-cultural marketing environments
  • Familiarity with sustainability initiatives, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) practices
  • Knowledge of the Asian market landscape and consumer behavior is advantageous
  • Experience in the hospitality, luxury, or service industry is preferred but not required
