The Director of Marketing is responsible for the development and execution of KLS Martin's marketing campaigns and initiatives. The position will work with product management, sales, graphics, and customers to create compelling marketing plans, promotions, and advertisements that resonate with customers and increase sales. The Director of Marketing and their team will also be responsible for measuring the return on investment of the campaigns and creatives.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a successful brand and image that attracts customers to the product and/or company
  • Develop marketing strategies for KLS products and services that comply with current company standards
  • Create effective marketing campaigns based on needs from our customers and sales team in coordination with product management
  • Supervise the execution of creative content, digital, in print, and in alternative mediums in support of marketing campaigns
  • Evaluate the ROI of advertisements and promotions across all platforms
  • Review current marketing trends across the industry to determine the effectiveness of different styles and strategies
  • Revitalize current marketing materials
  • Coordinate with our international marketing teams for a cohesive brand appearance
  • Review and improve physical product and advertisements for trade shows and

  • Research competitors to stay current with similar products or services on the market
  • Deliver and train others to deliver marketing presentations in assigned product(s)
  • Organize trips to field locations to perform job duties and responsibilities at trade shows, customer on-site locations, sales meetings, workshops, cadaver labs, and in surgery
  • Based on customer, market, and internal company knowledge, craft and execute product development, marketing, sales, and pricing strategies to drive revenue and grow the KLS Martin brand
  • Develop and maintain an effective team through the selection, training, compensation, motivation, termination, and review of direct staff.
    • Approve and schedule time off for direct staff.
    • Evaluate performance and conducts performance reviews for direct staff
  • Consult with our patent attorney on product patents and trademarks when required
  • Understand KLS Martin Non-Disclosure Agreements and when to execute them
  • Understand government regulations and company policy on customer expense related activities
  • Submit expenses for reimbursement following the company travel policy
  • Lead cross department initiatives and work with leadership to delegate roles, tasks and deliverables to other team members to accomplish the goal
  • Use professional verbal and written communication skills to build relationships and explain technical product information to customers, salespeople, and employees
  • Prioritize activities and tasks based on set sales, expense & development goals
  • Present on assigned products or initiatives
  • Retrieve and Interpret Documents, Know the Quality Policy & Safety Program, Report Product Complaints and Adverse Events, Understand and Follow Off-Indication regulations
  • Complete hospital credentialing where necessary to perform essential duties
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.



Qualifications

Educational and Experience Requirements

  • 4-year bachelor's degree: preferred in business, marketing, communications, or related
  • 4+ years of experience in strategic marketing
    • Develop marketing strategies for all product lines
    • Create campaigns for new products
    • B2B Marketing background
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead marketing and/or graphics team
  • Comfortable with 30-40 days of travel per year
