
Medline is seeking a Director of Manufacturing to lead its ReadyCare manufacturing site in Waukegan, ILL through a significant operational and regulatory transformation. This highly visible role will oversee approximately 150 employees across three shifts while helping reposition the facility as a full-cycle pharmaceutical manufacturing operation.
The site manufactures medical wipes, including CHG products, within a regulated, moderately automated environment. With significant investment, new leadership, and external expertise already in place, the Director will play a central role in strengthening pharmaceutical operating practices, supporting regulatory remediation, implementing a sustainable drug-quality management system, and returning key products to market.
This is an opportunity for an experienced pharmaceutical manufacturing leader to transform an operation, build long-term capability, and potentially influence Medline’s broader drug-manufacturing network.
Responsibilities
Provide overall leadership for manufacturing, warehouse, supply chain and facilities operations.
Lead the site’s transformation into a pharmaceutical manufacturing operation grounded in cGMP requirements and strong operating discipline.
Partner closely with Quality, Regulatory and external experts to support FDA remediation, inspection readiness and sustainable compliance.
Lead manufacturing readiness and the successful restart and ramp-up of key product lines.
Establish clear performance expectations and drive improvement across safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity and equipment reliability.
Strengthen manufacturing processes, continuous-improvement practices, predictive maintenance and employee-training programs.
Build, develop and engage a high-performing leadership team and predominantly hourly workforce.
Lead change management across systems, processes, behaviors and organizational culture.
Manage capital expenditures and support future manufacturing-line expansion.
Ensure effective inventory control and the accurate receipt, storage and movement of materials.
Maintain a safe, clean and secure workplace while ensuring compliance with all applicable safety procedures.
Partner with Quality and other functional leaders to investigate and resolve product
