We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Manufacturing Operations & Engineering (MOE - Assembly) to lead all aspects of manufacturing, engineering, and operational excellence for a dynamic production environment. This leader will be responsible for driving safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost performance while developing and executing manufacturing strategies that support business growth and operational transformation.

The ideal candidate will oversee manufacturing operations, process engineering, continuous improvement initiatives, and capital investments while leading cross-functional teams to achieve world-class performance. This role will champion the Bosch Production System (BPS), Lean manufacturing, Industry 4.0 initiatives, and operational excellence across all value streams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manufacturing Operations Leadership

  • Lead and optimize all production operations to meet safety, quality, cost, and delivery targets
  • Drive production performance, throughput, and OEE improvements
  • Ensure effective workforce planning, staffing, and operational stability
  • Establish a culture of accountability and performance management

2. Manufacturing Engineering & Process Excellence

  • Define and implement robust manufacturing processes for existing and new products
  • Lead process design, line balancing, capacity planning, and layout optimization
  • Ensure standardization of work, documentation, and engineering practices
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) activities including industrialization and ramp-up

3. Operational Excellence & BPS Deployment

  • Drive Bosch Production System (BPS) implementation across all value streams
  • Lead Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Identify and eliminate waste across manufacturing processes
  • Establish KPI systems and drive data-based decision-making

4. Strategy, CAPEX & Transformation

  • Develop and execute manufacturing strategy aligned with divisional and global objectives
  • Lead capital planning, prioritization, and execution (automation, expansion, modernization)
  • Drive Industry 4.0, digital manufacturing, and smart factory initiatives
  • Support plant footprint optimization and capacity expansion

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Quality, Supply Chain, R&D, and Finance to ensure operational alignment
  • Ensure “design for manufacturing” and early engineering involvement in product development
  • Support cost reduction, sourcing strategies, and supplier integration
  • Enable successful product launches and lifecycle management

6. People Leadership & Organization Development

  • Lead, develop, and mentor cross-functional teams across operations and engineering
  • Establish clear performance expectations and development plans
  • Build leadership pipeline and technical capability within the organization
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and engagement

8. Performance & KPIs

  • Safety performance (TRIR, incidents)
  • OEE, productivity, and labor efficiency
  • Cost (conversion cost, cost reduction savings)
  • Delivery (OTIF, throughput)
  • Quality (scrap, rework, internal defects)
  • CAPEX execution and ROI

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related)
  • 12+ years of experience in manufacturing and engineering
  • 5+ years in senior leadership roles managing multi-functional teams
  • Strong knowledge of Bosch Production System (BPS), Lean, Six Sigma
  • Experience in high-volume or complex manufacturing environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (MBA or Engineering)
  • Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Experience with Industry 4.0, automation, and digital transformation
  • SAP / MES / advanced analytics tools experience
  • Strategic leadership and execution
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to lead large, cross-functional organizations
  • Excellent stakeholder and communication skills
  • Results-oriented with strong change management skills

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing plant environment with regular shop floor presence
  • Occasional domestic and international travel required
