Director of Lifestyle

Department: Admin

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Reporting To: Kathy Russell

Compensation: $68,000 - $70,000 / year


Schedule Exempt (salaried), min 40 hours per week | Monday - Friday | 8:30am - 5pm | Possible after hours support as needed

What You’ll Do:
Step into a leadership role where you can truly shape the resident experience. As Director of Lifestyle, you’ll design and bring to life innovative, holistic programs that elevate well-being across Porter Hills Village. From big-picture strategy to hands-on execution, you’ll champion initiatives that inspire connection, enrich daily life, and create a vibrant, engaging community where residents thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute holistic programs aligned with organizational goals and resident needs.
  • Responsible for scheduling, planning and leading monthly meetings.
  • Oversee the rollout and ongoing management of Lifestyle programs, including Balanced Living.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and manage the work of the Lifestyle Team and Chaplains.
  • Develop and administers departmental policies and procedures.
  • Conduct workshops, seminars, and training sessions on health-related topics.
  • Promote awareness of resources and benefits available to residents.
  • Establish monthly themes, leads collaborative programming discussions, and streamlines communication tools.
  • Maintain measurable data to evaluate program outcomes.
  • Develop and monitor the budget for responsible areas.
  • Establish relationships with external vendors, wellness providers, and community resources.
  • Maintains partnerships to enhance program offerings.
  • Supports resident integration into the PHV community.
  • Create and manage a program for internal and external volunteers.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Two (2) years of experience implementing multiple complex programs.
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience, budget management and demonstrated leadership with cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy, health care administration or related field, preferred.
  • Education and/or experience in the aging process and health promotion.
  • Experience working in senior living.
