As our Director of Library Services, you will:

• Provide strategic leadership, oversight, planning and decision making for the national MC Library across the Brisbane, Sydney and Perth campuses while ensuring effective translation of these areas into local campus operations.
• Ensure alignment of service objectives, standards and priorities with MC’s strategy, mission, academic priorities and operational plans while delivering evidence-informed insights and recommendations to MC leadership.
• Provide people leadership and supervision to foster a positive working environment and build collaborative relationships across campuses while leading workforce planning, recruitment and professional development.
• Hold accountability for Library policies, governance, risks, and compliance with regulatory, copyright and privacy requirements and standards.
• Manage the Library budget, providing strategic oversight of expenditure and resource allocation to support teaching, learning and research.
• Coordinate day-to-day Library operations to maintain high levels of service and responsiveness to campus, student, and staff needs
• This can be a part-time or full-time role, 30.4 - 38 hours/week.
• Remuneration: $83,829/year (4 days) - $104,786/year (5 days) excl.12% Super and 17.5% annual leave loading.

Essential Attributes (please respond to these attributes in your Cover Letter):

• A qualification in library studies conferring eligibility for associate Librarian membership of ALIA.
• Experience leading staff or services across distributed, hybrid or multi-campus environments.
• Substantial professional experience in library services, with sufficient breadth across collections, systems, technical services and client services to provide effective oversight.
• Experience in a higher education library context.
• Demonstrated capacity to provide collaborative and effective leadership, including sound judgement, clear communication and the ability to build strong working relationships.
• Strategic, organised and service-oriented, with the initiative and adaptability to effectively lead priorities, systems, and continuous improvement.
• Demonstrated ability to develop staff and strengthen team capability in hybrid or multi-campus environments.
• Demonstrated Christian character and involvement in a local evangelical church.
• Willingness to embrace a culture of shared evangelical conviction and gracious, respectful disagreement on other matters.
• Alignment of personal values, beliefs and practices with the mission, Staff Code (https://tinyurl.com/mcstaffcode), and Christian ethos of MC.

Desirable Attributes

• Familiarity with theology as a subject area, theological education, or specialist academic collections.
