Director of Land Acquisition | Greater Sacramento / Roseville Area

National homebuilder expanding in the Greater Roseville / Sacramento market is seeking a Director of Land Acquisition to identify, underwrite, and negotiate residential land opportunities. The ideal candidate brings direct residential land acquisition experience with a production homebuilder, strong local market relationships in the Sacramento region, and a track record of navigating entitlements and closing land deals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source and evaluate raw land and finished lot opportunities in the Greater Sacramento / Roseville / Placer County market.
• Lead financial underwriting, due diligence, and contract negotiation on residential land transactions.
• Manage relationships with landowners, brokers, municipalities, and JV partners.
• Coordinate with entitlement, forward planning, and operations teams through land acquisition to project start.
• Track market conditions, competitive activity, and emerging opportunities across target submarkets.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of residential land acquisition experience with a production homebuilder.
• Deep knowledge of the Greater Sacramento / Placer County / Roseville land market.
• Experience with entitlements, land use, and municipal approval processes in California.
• Strong financial modeling and underwriting skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
