We are seeking a visionary Administrative Director of Laboratory Services to lead and advance our comprehensive laboratory operations across the health system.

Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the Administrative Director provides strategic, operational, and financial leadership for Meritus Medical Laboratory. This leader partners closely with the Chief Pathologist and interdisciplinary stakeholders to ensure the laboratory consistently meets CLIA and CAP accreditation standards, while driving quality, efficiency, growth, and service excellence.
The Director oversees laboratory management, quality assurance, and supervisory teams while guiding long-term expansion initiatives and operational performance improvements.
Lead day-to-day operations of Meritus Medical Laboratory across the health system
Collaborate with Pathology leadership on clinical strategy and innovation
Develop and execute a 3-year growth and expansion strategy for lab services
Expand ambulatory draw sites to improve patient access and market presence
Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, and all applicable regulatory standards
Oversee accreditation readiness, including College of American Pathologists inspections
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, turnaround times, and operational effectiveness
Manage laboratory operational and financial performance
Improve operating margin through cost efficiencies and performance optimization
Monitor and report key metrics through leadership dashboards
Partner with Supply Chain, Clinical Engineering, and Facilities on capital planning and equipment procurement
Represent laboratory services in institutional growth discussions and emergency preparedness efforts
Support business development, new testing capabilities, and service line expansion
Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing laboratory leaders
Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement
Promote interdisciplinary collaboration and system-wide communication
Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, Biology, or Chemistry (required)
Master’s degree in healthcare administration, or business (preferred)
Minimum 7 years of laboratory experience
Minimum 4 years of progressive laboratory supervisory experience
Proven experience expanding or growing laboratory services
Strong operational, financial, and strategic leadership background
