Responsibilities:
PMO Leadership, Governance & Portfolio Management
- Establish and maintain PMO standards, project governance, intake, prioritization, stage-gate, and benefits-realization processes.
- Manage the IT project portfolio by balancing strategic value, operational impact, business demand, budget, risk, dependencies, and resource capacity.
- Facilitate executive portfolio reviews, steering committee meetings, and timely decision-making and escalation processes.
- Develop practical governance that supports both enterprise initiatives and the fast-paced needs of construction and field operations.
Project Delivery & Business Alignment
- Ensure consistent delivery practices across Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid initiatives, selecting the approach appropriate to project size, risk, and business need.
- Monitor scope, schedule, budget, quality, dependencies, risks, issues, change control, and expected business outcomes across the portfolio.
- Partner with construction operations and corporate functions to deliver technology solutions that improve project execution, safety, quality, estimating, procurement, workforce management, financial operations, and client service.
- Promote effective rollout, training, communication, and adoption of technology across office, field, and project-based teams.
- Coordinate technology deployments with operational schedules to minimize disruption to active projects and jobsites.
Financial, Vendor & Resource Management
- Manage PMO budgets, project financial controls, forecasting, resource planning, and portfolio-level cost visibility.
- Oversee vendor project performance, professional services engagements, contractual deliverables, and the effective use of internal and external resources.
- Partner with Finance, Procurement, Legal, and business leaders to support sound investment decisions and vendor accountability.
Leadership & Communication
- Lead, coach, and develop project managers, program managers, business analysts, Scrum Masters, and other PMO staff.
- Provide clear executive reporting on portfolio KPIs, project health, budget status, risks, dependencies, decisions, and recommendations.
- Foster accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and strong partnership across IT, corporate functions, construction operations, and project teams.
- Build trusted relationships with business and operational leaders and translate technology delivery into practical business outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of enterprise applications, construction technology platforms, ERP and project controls systems, cloud services, data and analytics, cybersecurity, AI and automation, and systems integration.
- Ability to connect enterprise technology strategy with the practical needs of office, field, and project-based operations.
- Ability to establish meaningful performance measures and use data to improve delivery predictability, resource decisions, and portfolio value.
- PMP certification preferred; PgMP, PfMP, Prosci, Agile, or related portfolio, program, or change management certification is a plus.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management, Computer Science, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive project or program management experience, including 5+ years leading a PMO, project management function, or large program portfolio.
- Experience delivering enterprise technology initiatives in construction, engineering, industrial services, or a similarly project-based and operationally complex industry.
- Demonstrated success managing complex technology implementations and partnering with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Experience leading organizational change and technology adoption across geographically distributed or field-based teams is preferred.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States. Austin Industries is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.
