Job Description
The Director of Inventory Operations is responsible for end-to-end inventory governance, systems integrity, warehouse process control, and cross-functional alignment across Finance, IT, Operations, and 3PL partners. This role provides single-point accountability for inventory accuracy, serialized device control, ERP alignment (D365/Amdocs), and operational stabilization. The Director will strengthen proactive controls, analytics, and governance.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Build and enforce a disciplined inventory governance and control framework that eliminates reactive reconciliation
- Standardize warehouse processes across internal and 3PL facilities to ensure consistency and compliance
- Drive continuous improvement in inventory accuracy and operational efficiency
- Partner with IT to optimize D365 workflows, strengthen system automation, improve process integrity.
- Eliminate manual workarounds by implementing scalable, system-driven solutions
- Ensure accurate status management for serialized and non-serialized inventory across all locations
- Establish inventory-related KPIs and SLA expectations for 3PL providers and logistics partners
- Monitor 3PL performance and proactively address operational gaps
- Oversee forward and reverse logistics controls, including refurbishment processes
- Reduce recurring accounting escalations through proactive governance and root cause analysis
- Ensure documentation standards, internal controls, and audit readiness are maintained
- Support month-end and year-end inventory reporting and valuation processes
- Build executive-ready dashboards reflecting inventory exposure, risk, and performance trends
- Provide data-driven analysis and reporting to senior leadership
- Develop team capabilities, clarify role accountability, and strengthen operational discipline
- Foster a control-oriented, data-driven culture aligned with company growth objectives
- Support cross-functional alignment as the organization scales into new markets and operational models
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field
- 10–12+ years in inventory operations, supply chain, or materials management leadership
- Strong ERP experience (D365 preferred; telecom systems experience a plus)
- Experience with serialized inventory and device lifecycle control
- 3PL oversight experience
- Strong financial acumen with understanding of inventory valuation and balance sheet impact
- Proven ability to stabilize complex, cross-functional operational environments
- Ability to engage and influence collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
