JOB SUMMARY:
The Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing finished goods and raw material inventory across Momentec Brands’ manufacturing and distribution network.  This role ensures optimal inventory levels to support service objectives while minimizing excess, obsolescence, and working capital exposure.  This position plays a critical leadership role in managing inventory health, driving Excess & Obsolescence (E&O) mitigation strategies, supporting SIOP, and providing executive-level visibility through analytics, reporting, and KPI management. The Inventory Manager partners closely with Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Finance, Marketing, Distribution, and Commercial teams to proactively manage inventory risk and enable data-driven decision-making.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (includes other duties as required):
Excess & Obsolescence Management
Lead the Excess & Obsolescence (E&O) Task Force, including preparation, facilitation, and follow-up on action items.
Monitor and manage excess and obsolete inventory levels, driving mitigation plans and ensuring progress against reduction targets.
Partner with Commercial and Marketing teams to identify and execute sell-through initiatives, including promotions, closeouts, and liquidation programs.
Work with Finance to quantify financial exposure, reserve requirements, and recovery projections tied to inventory disposition.
Track and report progress against inventory reduction goals and initiatives.
Inventory Strategy & Optimization
Develop and maintain inventory segmentation and classification strategies, including regular updates utilizing the ONS methodology.
Establish and manage safety stock policies for finished goods and raw materials aligned with service level and working capital objectives.
Identify slow-moving inventory risks and implement corrective actions.
Manage inventory levels for strategic stocking programs, including league and contract business.
SIOP & Planning Support
Prepare and present inventory health, risk, and mitigation plans during monthly SIOP meetings.
Provide visibility into inventory projections, excess exposure, and recovery timelines.
Partner with Demand and Supply Planning teams to align inventory strategy with forecast and production plans.
Reporting, Analytics & KPI Management
Develop, maintain, and enhance inventory dashboards and reporting, including:
Inventory turns
Months of supply
Excess and obsolete exposure
Inventory accuracy
Working capital performance
Monitor and report progress against SKU Harmonization and inventory reduction initiatives.
Identify trends, risks, and opportunities and provide recommendations to leadership.
Inventory Execution & Operational Management
Manage inventory transfers across facilities to optimize service and reduce risk.
Establish warehouse prioritization for receipts, put-away, and allocation based on demand requirements.
Support warehouse consolidation initiatives and network optimization efforts.
Ensure accurate inventory records and partner with Distribution to maintain data integrity.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Finance, Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Marketing, Distribution, and Commercial teams to support inventory objectives.
Provide analytical support for new product introductions, SKU rationalization, and product lifecycle management.
Act as the primary point of contact for inventory-related analysis and strategic initiatives.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:

Required
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field
5+ years of experience in inventory management, supply chain planning, or supply chain analytics
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Advanced Excel skills
Experience managing inventory in a high-SKU environment
Preferred
Apparel, footwear, or consumer goods industry experience
Experience with ERP and planning systems (M3 Cloud and Logility preferred)
Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools
APICS CPIM or CSCP certification

Occasionally climb stairs to multi-level work site.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Hybrid, Office: This position will be hybrid/remote, based out of our Kannapolis location.  The typical schedule for a hybrid role is Mondays and Fridays work from home and Tuesdays through Thursdays on location/in office.
WORK HOURS:
Full-Time: Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM
