While receiving leadership support from the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Information Technology (IT) advances our mission by aligning technology with business goals, overseeing enterprise systems, and driving innovation across the organizationThe Director of IT is a strategic leader responsible for leading enterprise-wide technology strategy, aligning IT initiatives with organizational goals and driving digital transformation. This role will build and maintain strong internal customer relationships while aligning service delivery that is consistent with the mission, vision, values, and brand of Goodwill NCW.
Key Responsibilities
- Leads periodic assessments of IT systems, infrastructure, vendor contracts and staffing needs to inform a scalable, secure, and cost-effective technology roadmap aligned with organizational strategy. E stablishes and monitors Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other operational metrics.
- Develops and maintains a technology lifecycle management plan that aligns capital and operational budgets with strategic priorities and asset renewal timelines.
- Provides leadership to the organization by advising business partners on solutions to best fit the needs of the business.
- Provides oversight and direction on technology initiatives, governance, policies and documentation to align with best practices, compliance rules and regulations.
- Ensures compliance for accreditation, audits and with regulations.
- Drives a culture of automation, technology enablement and AI to optimize operations within IT and partners across the organization to improve decision-making, amplify mission impact and enhance organizational efficiency.
- Builds and develops a high-performing IT team through recruitment, coaching, and performance management.
- Manages IT budgets, forecasts and investments with a focus on ROI, cost-efficiency, ensures alignment with strategic priorities
- Oversees cybersecurity strategy to protect the organization’s data, systems and infrastructure while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Designs and manages security program to include backup and recovery, and business continuity planning and validation, and tabletop exercises.
- Evaluates organizational data and analytics needs and develops an agile, scalable plan.
Qualifications
Education, Skills & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
- At least 8 years of experience leading enterprise-level IT teams including operational stability, technical architecture, infrastructure design, application solutions, analytics and information security.
- Technically fluent in IT infrastructure, enterprise systems, and application architecture with the ability to engage in technical discussions and decisions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in project management, including planning, execution, and delivery of complex IT initiatives.
- Proven ability to manage both internal IT staff and outsourced partners or resources to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Strong vendor management skills, including contract negotiation, performance monitoring, and relationship development.
- Demonstrated success building buy in for an innovative and bold strategic vision.
- Ability to effectively serve as escalation point for critical IT issues including cyber, recovery and business continuity matters.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with a diverse audience and all levels of management.
- Advanced level of competency with Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook, and Excel, with the ability to utilize intermediate level formulas and functions.
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
