Job Description

  • Provides strategic leadership and oversight of all human resources functions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, legal requirements, and best practices.
  • Serves as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and management, supporting employee relations, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Leads efficient, equitable, and compliant HR operations by leveraging data, technology, and continuous improvement to support a high-performing workplace culture.
  • Serves as the organization’s Title IX Coordinator, overseeing compliance, investigations, training, and response processes to ensure adherence to federal and institutional Title IX requirements.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Provide strategic leadership for the human resources function by developing and administering HR policies, programs, and practices that align with the college’s mission, values, and strategic priorities, including direct supervision of Payroll and Benefits staff.Estimated time: 25%
  2. Ensure compliance and manage institutional risk by overseeing adherence to federal and state employment laws and higher-education regulations, including Title IX, ADA, FLSA, FMLA, and related reporting and training requirements, with functional oversight of payroll- and benefits-related compliance activities.Estimated time: 20%
  3. Lead employee relations and performance management efforts by advising leadership, addressing workplace concerns, supporting performance evaluation processes, and ensuring consistent application of policies.Estimated time: 15%
  4. Oversee recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and retention for faculty and staff to support workforce planning, diversity, and institutional effectiveness, coordinating with search committees and administrative partners as needed. Estimated time: 15%
  5. Serve as the Title IX Coordinator by overseeing Title IX policies, training, investigations, case management, and response processes to ensure equitable, timely, and compliant resolution of matters.Estimated time: 15%
  6. Administer compensation, benefits, and position classification programs by ensuring equitable pay practices, competitive benefits offerings, and alignment with budgetary and regulatory requirements, including direct supervision of benefits administration and payroll operations.Estimated time: 5%
  7. Develop and deliver training and professional development initiatives for faculty, staff, and supervisors related to compliance, leadership, and workplace expectations. Estimated time: 5%

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in human resources management, business administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 - 5 years’ human resources experience working as HR Business Partner or Director of Human Resources.
  • Professional certification in Human Resources (PHR) and/or SHRM-CP desired
