Summary: The human resource director is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function(s); employee relations, payroll, benefits administration, training, Federal & State compliance, reporting, compensation management, performance reviews, recruiting/hiring/onboarding.

Essential Duties:
- Annually reviews and makes recommendations to General Manager and Ownership, for improvement of the organization's policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters.
- Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures the organization's compliance.
- Maintains responsibility for organization compliance with federal, state and local legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.
- Communicates changes in the organization's personnel policies and procedures and ensures that proper compliance is followed.
- Assists executive management in the annual review, preparation and administration of the organization's wage and salary program.
- Coordinates or conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
- Consults with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by the General Manager, on personnel matters.
- Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters.
- Recommends, evaluates and participates in staff development for the organization.
- Develops and maintains a human resource information system that meets the organization's personnel information needs.
- Supervises the staff of the human resource department.
- Participates on committees and special projects and seeks additional responsibilities.
- Safety Committee Chair; responsible for conducting monthly meetings, audits, compliance, and fulfillment of liability and workers comp policy change results
- Recruit for all positions in hotel, to include posting of open positions, pre-screening of applicants, and transition to hiring manager for initial interviews
- Recruit, Interview and Hire all management and supervisory positions
- Maintain Career Page internal and external, maintain and update all third-party recruiting sites
- Schedule and participate in internal and external career fairs, with a minimum of three per year
- Conduct all pre-hire functions to include background and credit checks, review of drug test results, pre-screening evaluations
- Create, Maintain and Conduct all new hire orientations
- Build new personnel or re-hired personnel in payroll system and personnel files
- Parking Permit distribution and maintaining master file
- Ensure compliance of record keeping for personnel and medical requirements
- Protect confidential documents and ensure HIPAA compliance with all record keeping and company practices
- Monitoring Labor Law Compliance
- Provide yearly census to determine best market value for medical, dental, life and vision insurance
- Conduct Open Enrollment for all eligible employees
- Input all new enrollments and/or changes into all carrier sites
- Maintain all carrier sites and payroll deductions for medical, dental and vision
- Complete all ACA compliance reporting
- Verification and sending out 1095B & 1095C
- Input all new enrollment and changes into Progressive Benefit Solutions (HRA)
- Act as liaison between employees and all carriers to include HRA reimbursement process
- Schedule and conduct Corporate Health and Fitness Biometric Screenings, HRA and Health Coaching
- Partner with AFLAC and all third-party vendors, and facilitate subsidiary insurances
- Participate in Workers Comp Contractual Process and market bid
- Facilitate workers’ compensation claims and quarterly reviews
- Work with Travelers on any open claims, correspondence between employee, adjusters, and case managers
- Maintain all workers compensation files and complete annual OSHA filing for first incident reports
- Produce weekly payroll, quarter and annual bonuses, end of year tax forms
- Build, maintain and adjust all General Ledger Coding for payroll
- Review Labor analysis and overtime report on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis
- Monitor and review all Time Off Requests including Compensatory Time
- Build scheduling modules and ensuring compliance of all department heads
- Responsible for overtime reporting and investigation
- Enroll/Change/Cancel all 401K accounts, conduct quarterly enrollments, annual meetings and audit checks
- Formulate and Submit EEO Report Annually to Federal Government
- Maintain Harassment and Discrimination Procedures and Policies
- Conduct all Harassment or Discrimination Investigations
- Conduct all compliance training to include Sexual Harassment training every two years for existing employees and within the first 6 months for new hires
- Monitor and Maintain all FMLA requests and leaves
- Monitor and Maintain all ADA requests, reasonable accommodations, and protect confidentiality of all records
- Facilitate all unemployment requests, court orders, and fulfillment of legally required paperwork.
- Participate in all mandatory court proceedings for unemployment filings or disputes
- Employee Relations to include progressive discipline, reference and referral requests
- Conduct Conflict resolution meetings and trainings
- Ensure Hotel complies with necessary licenses and legal requirements
- Participate in all Department of Labor both State and Federal Audits or Disputes
- Assist with the creation of local community events to include local Middle School and High School career opportunities and internships
- Facilitate all employee events to include Holiday Party, Managers Outings, Departmental Outings and Trainings, Employee Appreciation Events
- Direct activities for employee morale
- Maintaining company directory and other organizational charts
- Comply with statutory and company requirements for Health and Safety, Food Safety, strictly adhered to and team members are trained accordingly.
- Review and co-ordinate action to any relevant internal and external audits to enhance the environment and achieve positive consistent results.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by Management.
- Fully aware of and comply with Inn’s policies and procedures as identified in the procedure manual and handbook.
- Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures.

- Working conditions are based in a hospitality setting.
- Associates may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
- Noise level in work environment is usually moderate.

Language & Physical Requirements:
- Language Skills: Good knowledge of the English language is mandatory as well as the ability to speak, read and write clearly. Must be able to read and listen to instructions, memos, short correspondences and messages.
- Physical Ability: Ability to spend long hours moving around, walking, sitting, standing and crouching while performing duties. Ability to work well under pressure and perform during emergency situations. Ability to regularly lift objects up to 30lbs.
