About the Role

The Director of Health Education LLP delivers against agreed objectives to help drive EHE in achieving its goals across DACH, SLAM and France. By developing, planning and managing the strategy and operational implementation of content acquisition, content integration into product, and strategic relationships fo rLLP content, this role will be key to expanding the reach and relevance of Elsevier’s offerings to students in medicine, nursing and health professions in the region. The Health Education Publishing Director - LLP will manage, motivate and mentor the Content Teams in order to maintain high standards and create innovative, world class customer focused content. Standardising best practice and taking advantage of potential content synergies across the Health Education teams and other areas of GCP is of critical importance.

Responsibilities:

Content Strategy:

  • Lead and execute the team’s content and portfolio strategy, including proposals, portfolio planning, financial oversight, and performance reviews.

  • Drive digital growth and ensure alignment with broader business objectives and strategic priorities.

  • Optimize content usage across platforms and identify new opportunities for portfolio growth and innovation.

  • Deliver annual signings, digital content, product, cost, and performance targets.

  • Partner with Content Management to achieve publication and delivery objectives.

  • Contribute to the wider Health Content Strategy through collaboration with other Content Directors.

  • Ensure content supports transformation initiatives, including adoption of the Elsa authoring platform.

In-depth customer and market knowledge:

  • Where needed, guide/support market research to understand customer needs

  • Be aware of competitive activities and identify future trends

  • Keep abreast of the changing technology landscape and the impact technology has on ensuring content accessibility and usage

Content Structure

Work closely with CKS Content Director to ensure content is acquired, developed and delivered efficiently

Team management & Change management:

  • Support and coach for employee engagement, development, and success. Listen and respond to the team through formal (OfficeVibe, EOS) and informal communication channels. Facilitate a culture of engagement, purpose, and shared success • Provide leadership including direction, motivation, context and feedback for team, focused on new ways or working and not being afraid to break the status quo • Provide coaching and direction, manage and set annual objectives and check-ins, manage performance, support change management, and provide change leadership

  • Strategic workforce planning with VP

  • Set stretch goals for direct/indirect reports • Collaborate and facilitate team collaboration across all layers of the organization to ensure market content needs are met • Orient team towards the needs/wants of our markets and submarkets

Requirements:

  • Bring high level expertise to develop and drive content strategy and execution for all Education content types

  • Foster a culture of high employee engagement, satisfaction, and innovation within the DACH, French and SLAM Education content teams.

  • Ensure the quality, integrity, and profitability of the program while delivering an outstanding author experience.

  • Collaborate with commercial partners, product teams, and other stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of content to platforms and products

  • Ensure customer needs are understood, and used to shape the best content to meet those needs, to assertain how we deliver those content types now, and to develop an action plan for how to create them more efficiently (time, money, speed etc) for the future

  • Identify and create opportunities to grow and evolve our business to deliver world-class content that supports medical, nursing and health education

Primary
Location Base Pay Range: Germany- Munich €91,100 - €151,700.
If
performed in any following locations: France - A DOMICILE, France - COMMERCIAUX PARIS, France - COMMERCIAUX PROVINCE, France - FORMATEUR PROVINCE, France - ISSY-LES-MOULINEAUX, France - Paris (Rue de Bercy), France - PARIS (RUE DE JAVEL), FRANCE - Tour Vista, Paris, the base pay range is €70,900 - €118,100.

If performed in any of the following locations: Barcelona, Madrid, Home Based - Madrid, Home Based - Barcelona, the base pay range is €67,600 - €112,900.
