OBJECTIVES

It is the responsibility of the Director Gov Con Banking to take ownership of all tasks and challenges they encounter in the operation of their assigned position. The role is a critical Business Unit of the Commercial Line of business requiring frequent interaction with Executive and Senior level management. It is both tactical and strategic in nature with significant collaboration within the LOB team as well as the entire Commercial Division. The Director Gov Con Banking will be required to build relationships and collaborate with other lines of business within the bank to include Credit, Operations and Finance. This is a senior level position tasked with the creation and sound growth of the Bank’s Commercial Division as well as the Bank’s overall Gov Con Strategy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Create and Execute Government Contractor (“Gov Con”) Strategy to include enterprise wide support of sales management, production, portfolio and risk management.

  • Identify and coordinate staff resources to appropriately support the Gov Con Strategy.

  • Establish collaborative relationships with Credit partners, facilitating the creating and application of appropriate credit/risk parameters for the Gov Con portfolio.

  • Create key performance measures as well as a viable incentive plan for the Unit.

  • Build and manage administrative aspects of the unit to include financial reporting, portfolio quality and goal attainment.

  • Create and distribute high quality internal and external communication supporting the growth and importance of the Gov Con strategy.

  • Coordinate Marketing efforts to promote the creation and success of the business unit.

  • Accept other duties as assigned.

COMPETENCIES

  • Proficient in MS Office, in particular Excel.

  • Strong knowledge with respect to Gov Con industry

  • Strong Leadership and organizational skills

Qualifications, Education, and Certification Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree (Graduate Degree encouraged)

  • Experience: 15+ years of Commercial Bank experience with a focus on the Gov Con industry

  • Certifications/Specific Knowledge: Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, proficient computer skills, ability to multitask and prioritize projects

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/CLASSES

Required annual compliance training, New Employee Orientation

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, and reports. This position requires a large amount of time in front of a computer. This can be done sitting or standing with use of the right desk.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is in a private office.

Telecommuting roles no matter if hybrid or 100% full time telecommuting must have a secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions. They must also have a reliable private internet connection that is not supplied by use of cellular data (hot spot). Cable or fiber connections are preferred. Requirements are subject to change, as new systems and technology is delivered.

TRAVEL

Travel may be required to come to meetings as needed.
