Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and executes a strategic vision of Study Away
  • Develops new, high quality study abroad exchange programs
  • Collaborates with faculty to develop and offer study away courses
  • Promotes University Study Away vision and programs
  • Administers study abroad programs, including study abroad exchange partnership and providers
  • Develops and communicates Global Engagement policies and procedures
  • Develops and administers study away course policies and procedures in collaboration with faculty
  • Manages Study Away and Global Scholar budgets
  • Administers the F-1 and J-1 international student immigration processes and maintains F-1 and J-1

international student records documentation.

  • Ensures institutional compliance with applicable federal F-1 and J-1 immigration regulations and reporting

requirements

  • Provides individualized advising to students on their study away options, preparation, and re-acclimation
  • Develops and implements pre-departure study away workshops, materials, and on-line instruction for study

away courses

  • Provides advising to international students regarding immigration requirements, procedures, and

compliance

  • Conducts annual Study Away assessment, including assessing Student Learning Outcomes
  • Composes annual Study Away report
  • Participates in the collection and analysis of data and evidence for reporting to The Commission on

Colleges and Universities

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree preferred, Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience with study away administration and programs
  • Experience with F-1 and J-1 visa regulations and the SEVIS system
  • Experience instructing and advising college students
  • Ability to develop and execute a strategic vision and plan
  • Understanding of a liberal arts education
  • Ability to collaborate with faculty
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience managing budgets
  • College-level teaching experience
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Salary: Mid-$50,000s, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
