Maltego is seeking a Director of FP&A to report directly to the CFO and drive company-wide financial planning, budgeting, and performance management. This senior leader will oversee both the FP&A and procurement functions, managing one FP&A Manager and collaborating across all departments. The role demands deep SaaS industry experience and a track record in a private-equity-owned (or VC-backed) environment. Key objectives include optimizing enterprise-wide financial performance, streamlining processes, and ensuring that budgets and forecasts reflect real supplier costs and strategic goals.

What to expect


Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Financial Planning: Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling processes. Oversee all FP&A cycles and analyses, ensuring rigorous forecasting and in-depth analysis of company-wide performance to support strategic decision-making
  • Performance Management: Develop and track enterprise-wide KPIs and metrics across all departments to drive continuous performance improvement. Identify opportunities to improve business performance and operational efficiency through targeted initiatives
  • Procurement Oversight: Manage procurement strategy and processes, negotiating with vendors and controlling costs. Integrate procurement data into financial planning – e.g., supplier pricing, contracts, and spending trends – so that budgets and forecasts are grounded in actual costs rather than estimates
  • Business Partnering & Communication: Serve as a key finance partner to Sales, Product, Engineering, HR, and other teams. Provide actionable financial insights and build reporting tools to improve transparency. Present financial results and recommendations (through board/investor packs) clearly and persuasively to senior leaders and private equity stakeholders
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the small FP&A team (including one FP&A Manager), fostering a culture of high performance. Ensure the team has the skills and resources needed to support the company’s objectives
  • Process Improvement & Tools: Champion continuous improvement of financial processes and systems. Lead the rollout of advanced planning tools (e.g., Anaplan or similar FP&A software) to improve the efficiency, accuracy,y and timeliness of budgeting and reporting
  • Executive Reporting: Prepare executive-level financial reports and board materials. Ensure the CFO and executive team have clear visibility into forecasts, variance analysis,s and key performance drivers

Your profile in short

Required Qualifications

  • Industry Experience: 10+ years in finance/FP&A (progressing through analyst and manager roles). Mandatory experience in a SaaS company and demonstrated success in a private-equity-owned or VC-backed firm
  • Technical Skills: Expert in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and analysis. Proficiency with ERP/financial planning systems; experience implementing enterprise planning tools (like Anaplan) is a strong plus
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior management and private equity partners
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, mentor staff, and work seamlessly with all parts of the business. High business maturity and confidence in interfacing with C-level executives and PE owners.
  • Location: Based at Maltego’s Munich headquarters, with at least 3 days per week onsite.

This Director of FP&A & Procurement will be a strategic finance leader driving Maltego’s overall financial health and operational efficiency. The successful candidate will combine strong analytical skills with excellent communication and leadership abilities to improve performance across the entire company.
