Job Summary:
The Director of Fleet is responsible for overall Fleet systems, telematics, asset optimization and efficiencies, fleet analytics and reporting, preventative maintenance and repair oversite, procurement, disposal process, registration and title process, and strategic initiatives.
This position will support our Meritum Energy location in San Antonio, TX
Duties/Responsibilities:
Develop and oversee continuous Fleet Cost Analytics and Reporting including Asset Optimization, Efficiency and Utilization of Current Fleet; Preventative Maintenance and Inspection compliance; and Procurement and Disposal Activity
Ensures accuracy, upkeep, training and oversite of Fleet systems including Telematics
Fleetio, GeoTab and Auto Integrate owner working with Fleet Manager and Field to ensure data is current and systems/processes functioning
Procurement and Fleet replacement strategic planning including identifying assets and/or equipment that can be repurposed, directly supporting and developing 3rd party relationships for procurement and disposals
Total company Fleet preventative maintenance and repair activity oversight including to ensure service plans are clear for each asset and equipment type by region
Executive reporting of Fleet briefing C Suite on KPIs, Trends, Projects and Capex needs
Registration and Inspection Oversite of total company Fleet and key equipment
Support Insurance set ups and removals of Assets and assist Insurance claims processes as needed
Monitor & Analyze Tractor/Trailer utilizations, routing and optimization including all Metered Trailers and Field level Transports
Supporting Terminal Access Agreements and Access for primary and contingency supply terminals
Propane and/or alternative fuel systems projects (with Fleet Manager)
Government and legislative affairs engagement – National Trucking Association, HOS lobbying
Assist and provide any consultation in driver recruitment and Fleet Safety
Support and help in development of strategic business development initiatives. Ex. CNG
Implement, maintain, and develop policies and processes to ensure fleet operates effectively and efficiently, educating staff with the industry’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
Perform all other duties as assigned
Personnel Management
This position will directly supervise a Fleet Manager and Fleet Coordinator.
Recruits, hires and trains employees based on criteria agreed upon by senior management
Ensure timeliness of recruiting and interview responses withing the regions
Ensure quality on boarding and reoccurring in person training in coordination with company HR and support
Manage applicable team meetings, development programs and reporting
Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team
Demonstrates ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees

Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities:
Proven leadership with ability to implement and oversee systems and programs
Familiarity with Telematics and Fleet systems (Fleetio, GeoTab)
Good listening skills and relationship builder
Must be able to coach and motivate a team
Must have excellent interpersonal skills
Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite
Service oriented
Requires travel
Education and Experience:
Undergraduate Degree from an accredited college or university in business management or a related field (required); five (5) years progressively responsible experience in the propane and/ or fuel distribution business required; or a combination of experience and education that results in the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is required
Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Must be able to sit extended periods of time
Repeat the same movements
Ability to speak clearly and eloquently with the ability to be responsive
Position will require working evening hours and weekends as needed
Visual acuity, hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity to accomplish necessary operations
