Job Description

At Bose Corporation, we believe sound is the most powerful force on earth — and for over 60 years, we have been a company built on innovation, excellence, and independence. Privately owned, fiercely customer-focused, and driven by our values, we continue to lead industries and transform lives through sound.

Today, Bose Corporation is entering an exciting new era. Across multiple global Business Units and Global Functions, we are shaping the future of audio technology, automotive, luxury, and premium experiences. We invite you to join us in this transformation.

Who we are looking for

The Director of Finance, Audio Technology will serve as the senior finance leader and strategic business partner for Bose Corporation’s Audio Tech business. This role will act as the “CFO” of the internal business unit, partnering closely with the Audio Tech BU leader and cross-functional leadership team to scale a high-growth, software- and technology-enabled business within Bose.

The ideal candidate brings progressive finance leadership experience, with demonstrated success in growing and scaling software, SaaS, licensing, platform, or technology businesses. Prior experience may include finance leadership roles in high-growth software or technology companies, venture-backed startups, corporate development environments, or business unit CFO roles in larger enterprises.

What you will be responsible for

Strategic Finance Leadership

  • Serve as the primary finance partner to the Audio Tech BU leader, helping shape strategy, operating priorities, investment choices, and growth plans.
  • Translate business strategy into financial plans, operating models, key performance indicators, and decision frameworks.
  • Provide CFO-level insight on growth, profitability, capital allocation, pricing, licensing economics, and long-term value creation.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Business Development, Sales, Marketing, Legal, Corporate Development, and Corporate Finance to support disciplined execution of the BU strategy.

Business Planning, Forecasting, and Performance Management

  • Own the financial planning cadence for the Audio Tech BU, including annual operating plan, long-range plan, rolling forecasts, monthly business reviews, and scenario planning.
  • Develop scalable financial models for software, licensing, platform, partner, and services revenue streams.
  • Establish and manage performance dashboards that connect pipeline, bookings, revenue, gross margin, operating expense, cash flow, and profitability.
  • Identify risks and opportunities early and provide actionable recommendations to improve business outcomes.

Growth, Scaling, and Commercial Finance

  • Help scale Audio Tech from an emerging growth business into a repeatable, high-margin, technology-driven business model.
  • Build and develop a high-performing Finance team supporting the Audio Tech BU
  • Build financial frameworks for partner economics, licensing structures, royalty models, pricing strategy, minimum guarantees, and revenue recognition considerations.
  • Support commercial deal reviews by evaluating deal profitability, margin impact, investment requirements, contract structure, and strategic value.
  • Partner with Business Development and Product Management to prioritize the highest-value opportunities across customers, platforms, markets, and use cases.
  • Modernize Finance and drive continuous improvement including but not limited to leveraging AI, automation, and data-driven tools to improve forecasting and decision support.

Investment Governance and Capital Allocation

  • Develop business cases for growth investments, platform development, partner enablement, tools, systems, and organizational scaling.
  • Lead financial evaluation of roadmap investments, including ROI, payback, margin profile, strategic optionality, and capacity tradeoffs.
  • Create governance mechanisms to ensure resources are allocated to the highest-return opportunities and aligned with enterprise priorities.
  • Drive transparency around spend, headcount, capacity, and investment choices across the BU.
  • Develop repeatable processes that enable faster, better decisions as the business scales

What we value

  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including senior FP&A, strategic finance, business unit finance, corporate finance, or CFO-equivalent responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience scaling software, SaaS, platform, licensing, technology services, or high-growth digital businesses.
  • Experience in a startup, venture-backed technology company, growth-stage business, or entrepreneurial business unit within a larger company strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of software and technology business models, including recurring revenue, licensing, usage-based revenue, partner economics, gross margin scaling, customer acquisition economics, and operating leverage.
  • Proven ability to partner with senior business leaders and influence strategic decisions through financial insight.
  • Exceptional financial modeling, forecasting, scenario planning, and business case development skills.
  • Experience building KPI frameworks, dashboards, and management reporting for growth businesses.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field required; MBA or equivalent advanced credential preferred.
