Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Finance to spearhead the successful financials of our water-front, full service 357-room San Diego Mission Bay Resort on beautiful Mission Bay.

The JOB:

As Director of Finance at San Diego Mission Bay Resort, you will bring change and make a difference. You’ll oversee accounting and financial reporting for all of the resort’s operations: Mission Bay Resort, our resort outlets Covewood Restaurant, Solrisa, Plaza Del Sol, and Mission Joe, our retail outlet Mercado, our full banquet and conference operations, and our world class spa, Spa Brezza. Together with your fantastic team you're tasked to elevate our accounting, controls, and financial reporting to a new level, mentor managers, and have fun!

YOU:

To be successful in this position, we’re looking for an amazing financial leader, who thrives on financial accuracy, training and sharing their experience in luxury, independent hotels. This role as Director of Finance requires previous experience in multi-faceted hotel / resort operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA preferred.
  • Eight or more years of related and progressively responsible experience with two years supervisory/management experience in a similar setting.
  • Strong knowledge of IT and Purchasing desired.
  • Possess strong of knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Ability to oversee all aspects of the accounting area including AR, AP, Credit & Collection, Payroll and General Ledger.
  • Requires ability to lead others in the department by mentoring and providing training that results in staff that meets/exceeds guest expectations and provides a high level of guest satisfaction.
  • Ability and experience in successfully leading and coordinating staff in a high volume, time sensitive environment. Must have excellent customer service/communication skills to work with guests of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds for the purpose of resolving problems/complaints and providing a high level of guest satisfaction.
  • Contacts and work materials sometimes contain confidential/sensitive information so requires ability to use discretion.
  • Requires ability to use computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information. Requires ability to oversee ERP system including working with internal and external software support as necessary. Requires advanced knowledge of MS Office applications (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and ability to learn and use computer systems used at the property.
  • Ability to work on AM, PM, weekend, and holiday shifts as required by operational needs.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience within a hotel/resort environment

The OFFER:
