Director of Finance opportunities are available throughout Texas, with each role supporting a single hospital location and serving as a key member of the local leadership team.

What You'll Do

As the Director of Finance, you will serve as a key member of the hospital's leadership team, partnering closely with the Division CFO, CEO, physicians, and operational leaders to drive financial performance, operational excellence, and strategic growth. You'll play a critical role in helping the organization navigate challenges, identify opportunities, and achieve both short and long-term objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and performance management.
  • Develop and execute strategies that improve profitability, operational efficiency, and long-term financial sustainability.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and hospital leadership team, providing financial insights and recommendations that support informed decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize resources, improve performance, and support organizational growth initiatives.
  • Ensure sound financial controls, fiscal stewardship, and regulatory compliance.
  • Prepare and present financial results, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and governing boards.

Revenue Cycle and Financial Performance

  • Drive revenue cycle optimization, reimbursement, billing, collections, and revenue integrity initiatives.
  • Analyze financial and operational trends to identify opportunities that improve performance and support sustainable growth.
  • Partner with operational leaders to remove barriers impacting financial performance and patient experience.
  • Establish accountability measures and performance metrics that drive measurable results.

Operational Leadership

  • Collaborate with hospital leadership to support strategic initiatives, service line growth, capital investments, and operational improvement efforts.
  • Bring structure to complex challenges by developing sustainable solutions and scalable processes.
  • Lead change initiatives that improve efficiency, productivity, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Support key business decisions through thoughtful financial analysis and strategic planning.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain high-performing teams.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and support teams responsible for accounting, purchasing, revenue cycle, health information management, patient access, and other assigned functions.
  • Build organizational capability through coaching and talent development.

Compliance and Governance

  • Maintain compliance with GAAP, healthcare regulations, SOX requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting and effective internal controls.
  • Support audits, regulatory requirements, and governance activities.
  • Promote ethical business practices and sound financial management throughout the organization.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience in ambulatory care, hospital or healthcare finance.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare reimbursement, revenue cycle operations, supply chain management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling expertise.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and driving financial and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to influence leaders, manage competing priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related discipline.
  • CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional certification.
  • Experience with healthcare regulatory compliance, SOX controls, and GAAP accounting principles.
  • Experience supporting hospital operations or multi-site healthcare organizations.
