Job Description

Key Accountabilities

  • Serves as the primary finance liaison for Corporate and Regional Finance partners, including Centers of Excellence (COEs), FP&A, P&T, Procurement, and other global finance teams.

  • Drives a culture of integrity, ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement across the Guadalajara finance team.

  • Actively identifies and drives opportunities to standardize, simplify, automate, and optimize finance processes to improve efficiency, control, and scalability.

  • Leads the implementation of new systems, tools, and technologies, including change management and adoption within the Guadalajara finance organization.

  • Identifies and advances high-potential talent, partnering with offshore leaders to design and implement targeted development plans

  • Builds a robust leadership pipeline through structured stretch assignments, rotational experiences, and cross-functional exposure

  • Strengthens leadership capability, providing hands-on coaching and mentorship while clearly articulating standards of excellence

  • Drives sustained performance improvement, supported by continuous feedback and strategically aligned finance training initiatives

  • Leads enterprise-wide initiatives and ensures global alignment, delivering critical projects while maintaining strong engagement with international stakeholders

Champions the IHG culture, modeling values and embedding “True Hospitality for Good” across teams and ways of working

Education

  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline required: MBA, CPA, or CIA preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive, workrelated experience with demonstrated proficiency across multiple finance and accounting functions, including leadership responsibility.

Technical Skills and Knowledge

  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate business and financial trends, assess risk and opportunity, and adapt strategies and operating approaches accordingly.

  • Personally demonstrates a strong results orientation and cultivates accountability, ownership, and performance excellence within teams.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence, align stakeholders, and gain consensus across multiple levels of the organization.

  • Fosters trust, transparency, and candor; addresses conflict constructively and communicates directly while maintaining strong professional relationships.

  • Demonstrated expertise in finance, budgeting, and accounting processes, including a strong understanding of applicable local statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements.

  • Leads and manages change effectively, proactively removing barriers and accelerating transformation initiatives where appropriate.

  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives in a fastpaced regional environment..

  • Demonstrated expert knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and working knowledge of IFRS guidelines.

  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English is required; proficiency in Spanish is strongly preferred.
