The Director of Finance is accountable for delivering accurate, timely, and decision-ready financial insights that support performance management, scalable growth, and investor expectations. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong analytical rigor, healthcare finance expertise, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven organization.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Partner with the CFO to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with business objectives, private equity investor expectations, and long-term growth initiatives
  • Provide clear, data-driven financial insights and recommendations to executive and cross-functional leadership
  • Prepare and support board materials, lender reporting, and investor updates, including monthly and quarterly reviews

Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)

  • Lead the annual budgeting process, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial planning
  • Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate scenarios, risks, opportunities, pricing, and profitability
  • Partner with operational leaders to monitor performance against financial targets, KPIs, and contractual benchmarks

Operational Finance and Healthcare Revenue Oversight

  • Lead financial analysis related to multi-revenue stream environments, including state programs and managed care contracts
  • Support contract negotiations, reimbursement analysis, and margin improvement initiatives
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and key financial drivers across the organization
  • Support due diligence, add-on acquisitions, and post-acquisition integration efforts as needed

Systems and Process Optimization

  • Drive improvements to financial systems, FP&A tools, dashboards, and reporting automation
  • Strengthen data integrity, scalability, and usability of financial information across the organization

Leadership and Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop finance team members supporting FP&A, reporting, and analysis
  • Establish clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards
  • Promote continuous improvement, discipline, and best practices in financial management

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
  • 8+ years of progressive finance experience, including leadership of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Demonstrated experience in healthcare finance or similarly complex, multi-revenue stream environments, including state or managed care contracts
  • Strong financial modeling, analytical, and executive presentation skills
  • Solid understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and audit processes
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP and financial planning systems

Preferred

  • MBA, CPA, or CFA
  • Experience in a private equity–backed organization or regular exposure to investor and board reporting
  • Experience supporting national or multi-entity operations
  • Background in financial services, healthcare services, or professional services organizations

Core Expectations

  • Operates with urgency, ownership, and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and imposing structure quickly
  • Willing to challenge assumptions and present direct, fact-based recommendations
  • Balances strategic thinking with hands-on execution

This role is accountable for outcomes, not just analysis. The Director of Finance is expected to lead, execute, and materially improve financial performance and visibility across the organization.
