Job Description

The Director of Field Operations is a strategic and operational leader responsible for ensuring activation success from Production Kickoff through field execution and asset return. This role owns the critical post-production handoff from Project Management to Activation Management and serves as the steward of field readiness, delivering execution excellence, and exceptional client experience in the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Field Operations Leadership & Strategy
    • Own activation readiness beginning at Mock and extending through asset return
    • Lead post-production handoff from Project Management to Activation Management
    • Establish clear ownership and execution standards before deployment and throughout activation
  • Activation Manager Leadership & Development
    • Hire, coach, and performance-manage Activation Managers
    • Ensure strong PM–AM communication rhythms
    • Drive consistent execution standards across activations in all markets
  • Operations Team Leadership (Pack, Mock, Train)
    • Lead the Operations Supervisor and Ops team members
    • Ensure disciplined pack plans and readiness checklists
    • Oversee mock execution reflecting real-world conditions
    • Own Tour Manager training and certification programs
  • Tour Manager Development & Brand Ambassadorship
    • Establish clear Tour Manager training, certification, and career path
    • Define standards for professionalism, client interaction, and decision-making
    • Develop Tour Managers into Lime Media brand ambassadors
    • Instill a best-in-class hospitality mindset —consistent, calm, professional, and client-focused
    • Address underperformance quickly through coaching, retraining, or removal
  • LED Field Operations Oversight
    • Lead the LED Supervisor responsible for LED field operations
    • Oversee hiring and performance management of LED drivers
    • Ensure LED truck availability across Lime Media’s top 25 DMAs
    • Maintain reliability, readiness, and performance of LED assets in the field
  • Client Experience & Activation Success
    • Own client experience during activations
    • Ensure field execution aligns with sold scope
    • Support escalations appropriately
  • Asset Protection, Safety & Compliance
    • Own safe delivery and return of assets
    • Drive Driver Safety Scorecard improvement
    • Ensure DOT and internal safety compliance
  • Activation Budget & Cost Control
    • Own post-Mock activation field budgets
    • Control labor, travel, freight, and incidental costs
    • Prevent scope creep and uncontrolled spending
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Track KPIs related to activation success, damage, safety, and cost
    • Create feedback loops to PM, Sales, and Ops
    • Elevate field operations maturity as Lime scales by creating durable process improvements

  • Strong Tour Manager readiness and retention

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • 8–10+ years of progressive operations or field leadership experience
  • Experience leading managers and multi-layered field teams
  • Background in logistics, experiential marketing, or mobile operations preferred
