Job Description

Summary

Chobani is looking for a Director of engineering Project Management to lead capital project execution across our manufacturing network. This is an engineering leadership role first - you will bring deep hands-on experience inside Food & Beverage, Dairy, or CPG production environments, and you will manage a team of Project Managers as the technical authority who sets direction, solves hard problems, and personally drives the highest-stakes initiatives.

*This is an onsite role at our Twin Falls, Idaho facility, this role is not eligible for Hybrid/remote schedules, relocation assistance is available,

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end execution of large-scale capital projects - from business case and scope definition through design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational handoff
  • Lead and develop a team of Project Managers executing strategic CAPEX across Chobani's manufacturing network, providing technical direction and holding teams accountable to safety, schedule, budget, and quality
  • Drive execution of major capital initiatives including greenfield and brownfield plant expansions, processing system installations, packaging line upgrades, utilities, and infrastructure projects
  • Develop and manage multi-million-dollar capital budgets - including cost estimating, bid leveling, contractor selection, change order management, and financial forecasting
  • Lead front-end project development: business case development, scope definition, feasibility studies, and capital appropriation requests
  • Manage external engineering firms, general contractors, equipment vendors, and construction teams across concurrent capital projects
  • Lead commissioning, startup, and operational turnover of new systems and equipment in coordination with Operations and Maintenance
  • Partner with plant leadership, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance to align capital priorities with business objectives and production schedules
  • Develop and execute short- and long-term capital planning strategies, including portfolio prioritization and resource allocation across the project pipeline
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks before they impact schedule, budget, or production - with a particular focus on executing inside live manufacturing environments
  • Establish and enforce CAPEX execution standards, stage-gate processes, KPIs, and tools across the site.
  • Provide executive-level communication on project status, financial performance, risk, and operational impact to senior and plant leadership

Requirements

  • 10+ years of capital project and engineering experience inside Food & Beverage, Dairy, Beverage, or CPG manufacturing - this is required, not preferred
  • 8+ years managing complex capital projects end-to-end: budgets, timelines, contractors, cross-functional execution
  • 5+ years leading engineering or technical project teams
  • Deep working knowledge of processing systems, packaging equipment, utilities, facility infrastructure, and plant operations
  • Proven experience executing CAPEX inside running production facilities — you understand what it takes to do this safely without stopping the line
  • Strong financial acumen managing multi-million-dollar capital budgets
  • Ability to influence, communicate, and drive alignment across all levels — plant floor to executive leadership
  • B.S. in Engineering or related technical field required (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or similar)
  • PMP preferred; SAP, MS Project, AutoCAD familiarity a plus
