The Director of Engineering oversees facility engineering and maintenance operations, leading a team responsible for all building systems and maintenance activities. This role reports to the SVP, Facilities and Events, and manages direct reports, including the Chief Engineer and theSr.Maintenance Manager. The Director ensures reliable operations, drives continuous improvement, manages vendor relationships, and supports capital and project work tomaintainsafe, efficient facilities. Responsible formaintainingstandards and regulatory requirements and leading the emergency response team for facility issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy ( 25%)

  • Provide leadership and direction to engineering and maintenance teams.

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance strategies and long-term engineering plans.

  • Build team capability, set goals, and ensure alignment with organizational priorities.

Engineering Operations ( 25%)

  • Oversee operations of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, water treatment, refrigeration, controls, and building automation systems.

  • Ensure compliance with codes, safety standards, permits, and regulatory requirements.

  • Monitor KPIs, maintenance backlogs, and operational budgets; manage service contracts.

Maintenance & Facilities ( 25%)

  • Manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs to maximize uptime and asset life.

  • Coordinate inspections, repairs, and vendor/contractor work; oversee long-term asset protection plans.

  • Supervise projects to ensuretimelycompletion within budgetary guidelines

Stakeholder & Project Management ( 25%)

  • Collaborate with events, operations, and property teams to support business needs and game plans.

  • Manage capital projects, renovations, and engineering-related procurement.

  • Communicate status, risks, and budgets to leadership and stakeholders; lead emergency response as needed.

Requirements

  • Education:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Experience: Significant progressive experience in facilities engineering and maintenance leadership, including managing teams and contractors.

  • Skills: Strong technical knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, controls), excellent leadership and communication skills, budget and vendor management experience, and project management capability.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred Certifications: CEM, CPM, or relevant trade certifications; OSHA or safety certifications as applicable.
