Hiring Position Director of Engineering: Infrastructure
Working Condition Hybrid

Pay Rate THB 150000 to THB 180000

Our client is a climate technology company based in Bangkok that is working on long-term solutions for the planet. Simply put, they capture CO2 from the atmosphere and ensure that it stays in the earth for 100-1000 years.

Their business stakeholders range from large corporates, carbon brokers to farmers and climate scientists.

Assuming the role, you will be working with a dynamic and incredibly mission-focused team from all around the world with different industry backgrounds ranging from technology to ecology.

As the first engineering hire, you will be setting up the infrastructure and tech solutions from day 0. This will include the software to run the day-to-day operations of the company as well as the digital presence. Your responsibilities will include the following:

• Manage a development team and outsource developers.
• Manage web flow for the company website with a secured back-end for the customer portal (authentication, data processing, database management, API integration etc.)
• Setup cloud hosting, security and design API integrations with third-party providers
• Setup and connect software for finance/accounting, tracking and ensure integration with third parties
• Acts as liaison between developers, PO, BA and various stakeholders.
• Design solution that meets business requirements, non-functional requirements
• Ensure that codes meet industry standards and best practices.
• Develop and maintain technical documents and ensure that all technical documents are up to date.
• Manage CI/CD , cloud infrastructure and deployment automation
• Review deliverable and result from the development team.
• Security: Ensure data protection standards are implemented with encryption and compliance with industry best practices
• Uptime and resilience: ensure high service availability and resiliency

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree or higher in computer engineering, computer science, information technology or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience in managing a development team.
• Experience in setting up cloud environments (eg on Azure, AWS) and managing cloud subscriptions
• Experience in in API development and RESTful webservices.
• Experience in database technologies such as MS SQL Server.
• Experience with Agile methodology using JIRA or similar platforms.
• Broad knowledge in software development technology and tools
• Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Good command of English.
