About the role
Four Seasons Hotel Madrid is seeking a passionate Director of Engineering to join the team. The Director of Engineeringoversees a team of Engineering and Maintenance specialists responsible for all engineering operations for interior/exterior facilities including plumbing, refrigeration, heating/cooling, painting, carpentry, structural, recyclingandelectricalareas. The Director is also responsible for Life/Fire safety systems, energy/green initiativesystemsand management of other engineering work necessary tomaintainthe property in an efficient condition to ensure the safety and comfort of guests and employees.
What you will do
1. Leadership and Management
Lead, unite and develop a multidisciplinarytechncalteam (maintenance technicians, gardeners, pool technicians, external contractors).
Foster a culture of excellence,serviceand accountability.
Ensure continuous training, coaching and skills development across the teams.
Guaranteethe rigorous application of Four Seasons procedures and all applicable local regulations.
Act as a hands-on, visible,committedand exemplary leader.
2. Operations Management
Oversee all preventive,correctiveand statutory maintenance operations across the property.
Serve as the technical authority in key disciplines: HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems (high and low voltage), fire safety systems, pool hydraulics.
Ensure full regulatory compliance and the safety of guests,employeesand assets.
Optimizethe use of the CMMS and continuously improve maintenance programs.
3. Project, Performance and Budget Management
Plan,coordinateand oversee major maintenance,renovationand continuous improvement projects.
Manage external contractors and ensure compliance with timelines,budgetsand Four Seasons quality standards.
Actively contribute to the hotel’s long-term asset management and capital planning strategy.
Prepare, manage and control annualOpexand Capex budgets.
Define clear priorities and ensure rigorous financial tracking and reporting.
Optimizecosts while consistentlymaintainingthe expected level of excellence.
4. Energy Efficiency and CSR
Monitor and analyze water, electricityand gas consumption through Group platforms and internal reporting tools.
Propose,implementand lead action plans aimed at reducing consumption and improving energy performance.
Identifyand drive optimization opportunities (efficiency gains, automation, intelligent scheduling).

Qualifications are required either a Professional degree in an Engineering discipline, trade degree in a specific technical field relating to Engineering (MechanicalElectricalCivilEngineering)orCEOE –CertifiedEngineeringOperationsExecutivefromthe Hotel and motelHospitalityAssociation,BuildingOwnersManagementInstitution(BOMI)designation, RealPropertyAdministrator(RPA),FacilityManagementAdministrator(FMA)orSystemsMaintenanceAdministrator(SMA)
Candidates mustdemonstrateexcellent communication skills in English and Spanish.
